Welcome BULGARIA RALLY 11 13 July 2008 The top Bulgaria Rally is an event with 38 years of history. From 1970 to 2001 the Rally had an HQ in the famous Black sea resorts Zlantni Piasatzi and Albena. In 2002 the competition is run in the central part of south Bulgaria and has a start/finish in Borovetz in the Mountain of Rila. The Rally has an itinerary, totaling 736,86 km with 13 SS (282,61 km) all in asphalt. Its route is very compact and selective and it passes trough the beautiful Bulgarian scenery. The first special stage runs along the streets of Borovetz and this is a challenge and a test both for cars and drivers. The 2007 winner of the Rally is the Bulgarian crew Dimitar Iliev/Yanaki Yanakiev with Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. More than 250 thousands spectators watched this top event. Traditionally, the Rally has very large media coverage and over 190 journalists from Bulgaria and abroad were accredited to the media center. At the same time it received an active help both from the state and local authorities. The competition was sponsored by big national and international companies. The Headquarters is located in Rila hotel in Borovetz. The start / final podium and the park ferme are situated in front of the hotel. The charm of Borovetz can be felt in winter time, but in summer the resort offers excellent conditions for holidays too. From 11 to 13 July 2008 Borovetz will become the capital of Rally Bulgaria and will await and welcome its guests. The shakedown will be held on 10 July 2008 at noon. The ceremonial start will be given in the evening of 11 July 2008, followed by the first special stage. The rally has 2 legs. There is one Service Park, located some 25 km east from the resort. Borovetz is not far away from to the capital city of Sofia. It is accessible by plane (Sofia airport is 60 km away) and by road (150 km from Serbian and Greek border). Welcome to one of the best European event, enjoy your stay and feel the emotions that you could only have during the Bulgaria Rally! G. Yanakiev Clerk of the Course Bulgaria Rally

Welcome Borovetz Borovetz, the most well-known winter resort of Bulgaria is situated on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1 300 m. The highest peek on the Balkans Moussala (2925 m) stands over the resort. In the 19 century Borovetz was one of most favorite hunting place for the Bulgarian tsars and the upper class. Later it has been developed and became one of the most attractive resorts in Bulgaria. It is famous for its tracks and the good conditions given for other winter sports. Two World Cups for Alpin Ski, a World Championship of Biathlon and many more.

Fuel / Insurance Fuel Maximum lead content in fuel in Bulgaria is 0,15 g/l Insurance Description of insurance cover The entry fees include the insurance premium, which guarantees the competitors cover for personal injuries up to 100, 000 EUR for civil liability towards third parties. The insurance cover will come into effect from the start and will cease at the end of the rally or at the moment of retirement, disqualification or exclusion. Risk insurance (Traffic insurance) is compulsory for all cars taking part in the rally. This insurance is valid both on road sections and special stages. If competitors, with Bulgarian registered cars, are insured against material damage it will not be valid during the competition. The Bulgarian Traffic Damage Act covers for personal injury and property damage. Cars insured by foreign companies must have traffic insurance valid for Bulgaria. Confirmation shall be in the form of an International Motor Insurance Card (green card). This card is obtainable in the competitors home country. For cars coming without a green card, insurance must be taken at the Bulgarian border. In case of accident, the competitor or his representative will have to declare it in writing and at the latest within two days. In case a breakdown service is used in a special stage or on a road section, the expenses are at the cost of competitor. If a driver participating in a rally is implicated in a accident during which a member of the public is hurt, the driver concerned must notify it at the next radio point specified in the Road Book and displayed on the itinerary by a board bearing the symbol of the radio point. If he fails to observe this rule, the Stewards may impose on the crew responsible a penalty, which may go as far as exclusion (see FIA Appendix IV/2.5) The service vehicle, even those bearing special plates issued by the Organizer, may never be considered as official participants in the Rally. They are therefore not covered by the insurance policy of the Event and remain the sole responsibility of their owner.
