1. Dependable and practical: Vida The Vida hospital bed combines modern design with great reliability and practicality. Its clean lines and clear design facilitate handling and reprocessing at the same time. With its many equipment options, Vida offers the right solution for a wide range of requirements. Due to its large adjustment range this bed can be indi vidually set to a comfortable level to allow the patient to get in and out of bed. The lowest position enhances patient safety and helps to prevent fall-related injuries. At the same time, caregivers are always able to position the patient at an ergonomic working height. The inte grated Auto Contour function allows simultaneous adjustment of the backrest and thigh rest. This creates greater comfort for the patient and also prevents the patient from sliding towards the foot end when the seating position is adjusted. The stable design provides for a safe working load of up to 250 kg. Thus, the Vida hospital bed is also ideally suited to heavier patients. 03
1. 3. 4. perational controls The Vida can be handled easily and intuitively at any time with its operational controls. Various combinations of a handset, control box and locking box are available to cover a wide range of needs. The ergonomically shaped patient handset offers easy one-hand operation. This handset is also available in a lockable version that can be used to set the bed into the Trendelenburg position (image 3). In addition we offer a handset that can be combined with either a control box or a locking box (image 4). In order to make it easier to use this handset at night it can be provided with backlit buttons (not illustrated). The control box gives control of all adjustment options for the mattress base, including the CPR function and the Trendelenburg position (image 1). Moreover, all standard handset functions can be locked separately to prevent the patient from using them. The locking box provides the option to lock standard functions on the handset and enables nursing staff to adjust the bed to the emergency settings. The control box and the locking box are integrated in the bed s linen holder. There, they are protected and can easily be reached by nursing staff. All operational controls are also available in combi na tion with a control satellite. It is attached to the head section of the bed with its flexible holder. From there, it is within easy reach of the patient from any position. 04 05
1. 3. 4. 5. 6. Features The Vida can be delivered with numerous equipment options. These useful features significantly facilitate the daily care routine for nursing staff. The slide-out linen holder is a practical aid when changing bed linen or treating the patient (large figure). It also incorporates the control box and locking box. The bed extension provides an easy way of extending the lying surface to a comfortable length to accommodate tall patients (image 1). The bed can be equipped with optional integral castors (image 3) or ST smooth-running castors (image 4). Both types make it easier to manoeuvre the bed and offer central braking. The wall deflection rollers provide all-round protection and prevent damage to the bed and the hospital s furnishings and fixtures (image 2). The angle indicator enables the backrest to be tilted precisely to the medically required position (image 5). The emergency lever allows the backrest to be lowered quickly and safely in one easy movement (image 6). In addition, the Vida can be fitted with an under bed light. This is a useful orientation aid at night, without dis turbing the patient in the next bed, and helps to prevent falls. Beds fitted with an under bed light can also incorporate an acoustic brake signal. This signal sounds if the bed is moved without unplugging the mains cable, and indicates that the brakes are not applied. 06 07
MultiFlexsafety sides MultiFlex-safety sides are fully retractable and can be raised and lowered in a few easy moves. This makes them easy to handle even in confined spaces. The system protects the patient up to a height of 41.5 cm. The middle post with its ergonomic knob doubles as a mobilisation aid, and helps patients to stand up on their own. It can easily be released and lowered whenever necessary. 3/4-safety sides The three-quarter length safety sides provide protection up to a height of 39 cm. Lowering the safety sides vertically is easy, and this makes them ideal for use even in confined spaces. Quick access to the patient is guaranteed through easy and intuitive handling. 1. 08
1. Head and footboards Two versions of head and footboards are available for the Vida: The Classic model (image 1) is available in 12 decors (see page 15). The Intercontinental head and footboard (image 2) can be ordered in six colours, as shown on the right. The head and footboards can be quickly and easily removed for treatment or cleaning purposes. 1. 1. 3. 4. Mattress base The Vida can be supplied with a hygiene mattress base. This mattress base is made of tough polypro pylene. The plastic elements are specially formed to make cleaning easier. The mattress base sections are extremely light and can be removed separately, which facilitates manual reprocessing. The mattress base can also be equipped with an X-ray-permeable HPL backrest (image 1). An X-ray 12 Accessories cassette holder is already provided under the back rest (image 2). This useful addition allows Vida to be used in many units within the hospital to meet their differing requirements. The accessories are distinguished by their high quality, which makes them suitable for use in tough everyday hospital use. In developing these additional options, our prime focus was on the daily routines of medical staff and patients alike. All accessories are easy to assemble and are quickly ready for use. We offer a variety of ideally adapted accessories to go with the Vida bed. The numerous different ways of attaching accessories means that the patient can enjoy the full range of bedside care. The patient lifting pole (image 1) and the infusion stands (image 2) can be inserted at either the head or foot end. The sliding rail allows accessories to be flexibly attached to either version of the safety sides (image 3 and 4).
