First Suspension Bridge on the Palmetto Trail Complete The 60 ft gap along the Wateree Passage of the Palmetto Trail has been connected with a new suspension bridge! The bridge, funded by SCE&G, allows hikers to continue along the Wateree Passage and eventually access the existing Wateree Bridge. With this new connection, Palmetto Trail goers can traverse the section of passage that was previously impassable during flood season. PCF Trail Coordinators will be working during the upcoming seasons to build the final connection from the new suspension bridge to the existing Wateree bridge that overlooks the Wateree River.
