P a g e 5 Day 1: Overnight Travel

P a g e 6 Day 2: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, Lake Manyara National Park Lake Manyara National Park With the Lake on its east and the Manyara Escarpment to its west the Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algaestreaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport at 0900 hrs, you will be met by our representative and light refreshments will be served and then transfer to Arusha. After lunch you depart Arusha passing through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni you turn North West and continue the journey up through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara. Overnight at Lake Manyara Kilima Moja Lodge on full board basis Overnight: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge View ibrochure Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge is nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views of Lake Manyara, Mount Meru and on a clear day, Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is situated in lush green gardens and local vegetation with over 130 species of bird. It offers an ideal place in which to base a northern safari experience. The Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands are just a short drive away from the lodge. Sitting around the outside fireplace watching the sun setting over the Great Rift Valley and listening to the humming of the birds in the background is a fitting way to end the day, and preparing for a sumptuous dinner feast. MAKUYUNI Arusha

P a g e 7 Arusha Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania located at the foot of Mt. Meru, close to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. From there it s only a short trip to the Serengeti. Just to the north, on the slopes of Mt. Meru is the Arusha National Park. Built by the Germans as a centre of colonial administration because of the temperate climate, Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from your safari.

P a g e 8 Day 3: Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Central Serengeti Central Serengeti The Serengeti together with Kenya s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa s most famous wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet with more than a million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains has become almost essential and you can even do a horseback safari. Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park After breakfast, a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park than returns to the lodge for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, the journey continues North West across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you will hopefully start spotting game well before you get into the park. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge on a full board basis Overnight: Serengeti Sopa Lodge Serengeti Sopa Lodge is perched on a hilltop overlooking the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, Tanzania s leading game reserve. The park offers unrivalled game viewing and bird watching opportunities. All the members of the Big Five; elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and cheetah may be spotted here! Lake Manyara Ngorongoro Conservation Area

P a g e 9 Ngorongoro Conservation Area The Ngorongoro Conservation Area includes the famous Crater and its lesser known regions to the north; the Olduvai Gorge (where Lucy was found in 1974) and expansive plains of grassland which run all the way across to the Serengeti. Local Masai herd their cattle and goats alongside Africa's famed wildlife, as they have for centuries. Day 4: Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Central Serengeti Serengeti National Park After breakfast, a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park before returning to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we continue to explore the surrounding prime wildlife areas before returning to our lodge for the evening. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge on a full board basis Serengeti National Park Serengeti National Park The Serengeti together with Kenya s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa s most famous wildlife park. P a g e 10 Day 5: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater Ngorongoro Crater The Ngorongoro Crater is game viewing gone crazy and it is not surprising that with is one of Tanzania s major tourist drawcards. Within the crater rim a daily wildlife drama is played out as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby lions, leopards, elephants and black rhinos. Outside of the crater a similar drama continues in a more spread out manner with Masai herdsmen thrown into the mix. Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater After breakfast, you depart for Ngorongoro with viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains stopping for a picnic lunch. You continue to your lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on a full board basis Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge Perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater, a world heritage site, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. It has the most magnificent views over the crater floor, which is home to vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, the rare and endangered black rhino, elephant, cheetah, leopard, lion and herds of gazelle and wildebeest. Its position on the Eastern rim allows the most spectacular and uninterrupted views of the sunset. Situated on the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, in the volcanic highlands of Tanzania, covering an area of some 240 square kilometres. The lodge is located 170 km from Arusha, approximately 4 hour drive and 40 minutes by air, with another 45 minutes transfer from the airstrip to the lodge. Day 6: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater Ngorongoro Crater A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World s largest wildlife zoo. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. It s an awesome wildlife experience. A picnic lunch is served overlooking a small lake populated with hippos. You return to the lodge in the late afternoon. P a g e 12 Day 7:, Nungwi Nungwi Once little more than a ramshackle fishing village, Nungwi has been transformed into one of Unguja island s busiest beach destinations and its second most populated village after its capital, Stone Town. Situated at the island's northernmost tip, Nungwi is blessed with some of Zanzibar s most idyllic swimming beaches as the water surrounding this section of the island is fairly deep and mostly unaffected by the change of tides. The village is also renowned as a party hotspot with plenty of boisterous nightlife and a thriving social scene hosted by the village s slew of hotels, bars, shops and restaurants. Spend your days lazing on the spectacular beaches, floating in the idyllic turquoise waters or indulging in a massage. Then, as the sun sets, join the revellers as the town comes alive, cocktails flow freely and the beach bonfires begin to blaze. Daily itineraries tend to be gloriously simple: sunbathe, swim, party, repeat! Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha - Zanzibar Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head south east en route to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. Through the highlands and the Karatu district, you will view the scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations here before journeying down the spectacular escarpment where you turn north on to the main Arusha Dodoma road and head to Arusha. On arrival in Arusha you will be dropped off at Arusha airport for onward flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to Royal Zanzibar, where you will spend the next 5 days at leisure. 5 nights at Royal Zanzibar in a superior room on all-inclusive basis Overnight: The resort is set in almost 20 acres of paradise located on the North Shores of exotic Zanzibar, just outside the town of Nungwi, an area that enjoys warm and sunny weather almost year round. The Royal Zanzibar consists of 80 superior rooms and 16 suites, set in almost 20 acres of beautifully tended tropical gardens. One may choose to simply relax on the resort, enjoying the warmth of the African sun and the soothing sound of the waves, or to explore Zanzibar, an island rich in history and culture. The places to see include historic Stone Town, Maruhubi Ruins, Mbweni Ruins, Mtoni Ruins and Kidichi Persian Baths. There are also tours of the spice plantations and the Jozani Forest available.

P a g e 13 Mto wa Mbu Village Lake Manyara Karatu Tarangire Karatu Travellers heading for the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater will inevitably pass through the town of Karatu in the green hills of Tanzania s northern highlands. Presided over by the towering Ol Deani Volcano, this small, colourful town serves as a popular overnight stop for visitors exploring the area s many game parks. The town offers a variety of activities including browsing the bustling marketplace, sampling beer at a local brewery, visiting a traditional Iraqw homestead, or taking a guided walk through the Ngorongoro Forest in search of waterfalls and elephants caves. Whether you are looking for cultural tours, hiking and biking opportunities, a chance to enjoy an authentic rural Tanzania experience, or simply a break between safari game drives, this underrated town has plenty to offer.
