You are invited to help our farmers by supplying some home baked goodies. These we will sell on 28th October 10:30am to 6:30pm at the Funds for Farmers Original Music Day. If you would be kind enough to cook either cakes, slices, biscuits, preserves or whatever you fancy, it would be much appreciated. Drop off at the Mapleton Gym Saturday 27th between 7am and 10am, Library between 9am and 12 Noon or bring with you on the day. Please present on thick cardboard covered with alfoil or on a sturdy plastic plate. Cover your cooking with plastic wrap. If possible include list of ingredients. Make someone s day with an unexpected act of kindness It was Princess Diana who said, Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you Wouldn t it be lovely if we could all do that? Nothing big, just a small show of kindness every now and then. Here s some suggestions, you may have many ideas of your own. 1. Give someone a compliment 2. Let someone go in front of you in a queue 3. Give up your seat on the bus or train for another passenger 4. Cook someone their favourite meal 5. Donate your old towels or blankets to an animal shelter 6. Visit someone who may be lonely 7. Sign up to give blood 8. Clean the communal fridge or microwave at work 9. Buy a hot drink or some food for a homeless person 10. Donate to charity shop 11. Send a thank you email to a friend or colleague 12. Help an elderly person with their shopping 13. Bring in some treats for your colleagues 14. Hold the door open for someone 15. Undertake a rubbish clean up in your area 16. Give someone a bunch of flowers from your garden 17. Put your loose change in a charity box 18. Community Service Old pairs of spectacles: Thank you from Lions many donations received. All are appreciated. If you have any that you no longer require, Lions is happy to take them off your hands.
