A city endowed with plentiful natural resources and sites of historic interest, Chengdu is home to China's living treasures the Giant Panda, as well as many other endangered species. With 23 a history of over 2,400 years, it is also a gateway to the country s most spectacular natural wonders and Chengdu's local cuisine is world renowned for its delicious spiciness. The meeting officially started on Monday with a welcome address and keynote speech from our Executive Chairman, Mr CW Tan, and Group CEO, Mr Daniel Tok.
The conference provided excellent opportunities for all delegates to exchange business ideas to strengthen mutual ties, foster better understanding of the market condition in each territory and move unanimously towards achieving a common goal. It was not just all about serious work as participants enjoyed a number of exciting activities and networking receptions, including a magnificent Chinese drum performance put up by our Executive Chairman Mr CW Tan and a birthday celebration held at Pint Beer Museum & Bar for the October babies. The Globelink Annual Conference is never completed without a Gala Dinner, an evening full of celebration and feasting! The Belarus guests were kept entertained throughout the dinner with games and performances specially prepared for the occasion.
Issue 173, December 2017 A networking tour to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was specially organized on the last day of the conference for our delegates to have a glimpse of Sichuan s most famous residents outside of a zoo. The base focuses on promoting public awareness for wildlife and environmental conservation. The second stop was at Huanglongxi Ancient Town. With a rich history of more than 1,700 years, it is definitely worth a visit to experience the ancient Chinese culture and taste the traditional local snacks. Special thanks to Globelink Shanghai for the great support rendered before and during the event, and a big thank you to all who have contributed in one way or another in making the event a great success!
