After providing unique opportunities to see chimps and mountain gorillas in the wild, your adventure then ends along the shores of Lake Victoria, where you can relax beside the waters of one of Africa s greatest lakes. Beginning in Entebbe, your journey then takes you on to the Murchison Falls National Park to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls. Then continue to the remote landscapes of Kibale National Park, where you can track the endangered chimpanzees inhabiting the forest, as well as 12 other primate species. Journey to Semliki to discover the Batwa culture and the legend behind the parks hot springs, before heading south to Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree climbing lions. The next stop is the rich forest of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Home to nearly half the world s threatened mountain gorillas, your time here provides a chance to see these majestic animals up close and in their natural environment. ITINERARY DAY 1: ENTEBBE Arriving into Entebbe today, you will be met and driven on to your hotel for the evening near Lake Victoria. After a chance to freshen up, the rest of the day is then free to relax and enjoy at your leisure. DAY 2: ENTEBBE - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK Your guide will collect you from your hotel and take you on the 300km, five hour road transfer up to the Murchison Falls National Park. After entering the park you will enjoy a game drive transfer to your lodge. On the way there will also be the chance for you to visit the fascinating Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you will go on a walking Safari to the Southern White Rhinos that have been re-introduced in Uganda. (B,L,D) DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK Making the most of the varied activities on offer, this morning you will head out into the delta by boat, to search for shoebills along the shoreline of Lake Albert. Later there is then the opportunity to take the boat up to the Murchison Falls, before hiking up to the top to enjoy the incredible views and a sundowner drink with the setting sun. (B,L,D) DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK - KIBALE NATIONAL PARK Your driver will take you through the Murchison Falls National Park exiting at the Southern Gate. From there you will proceed South-West to the Kibale National Park, host to the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species. On the eight hour journey you will pass many tea plantations on the way. Arrive in the afternoon to your lodge and relax for the evening. (B,L,D) DAY 5: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda, as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare Lhotse's monkey. In the afternoon, you then have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK - SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK This morning you will drive west towards the sprawling landscapes of the Semliki National Par (approximately 3 hours). In the afternoon, you will head out to the nearby hot springs before visiting the Batwa community. The Batwa will demonstrate hunting techniques, how they gather honey and the art of making bamboo cups, leaving you with a moving sense of the richness of this fading culture. (B,L,D) DAY 7: SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, you will drive to the world-famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the equator along the way you will have a hike en-route on Mt. Rwenzori. The trail will offer a glimpse of the Baker and Portal Peaks as you hike up to 2,300m above sea level. On a clear day it is even possible to view the snowcapped Margherita Peak - a truly spectacular sight. Along the way, keep an eye out for chameleons, squirrels, vervet monkeys and many birds. Then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK Enjoy a morning game drive in search of over 100 mammal species that inhabit the park. Thereafter, have a walk into the fishing community and market to learn about the different fish types caught and boat making. In the afternoon, you shall have a boat ride on Kazinga Channel. (B,L,D) DAY 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK - ISHASHA You will be drive not your lodge in Ishasha in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. From your lodge, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in search of the unique tree-climbing lions before concluding the day with a beautiful sundowner. (B,L,D) DAY 10: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK Following one last game drive in Ishasha, journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to around half of the world's last remaining mountain gorillas. Arriving in time for lunch, the rest of the afternoon is then free to relax before tomorrow morning's gorilla trek. (B,L,D)

DAY 11: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK Mountain gorillas are amongst the most unique and fascinating mammals left on the planet. There are estimated to be around 320 living amongst the rainforests of southwestern Uganda and today you will head out after an early breakfast to track them. Travelling in small groups, once you have found the gorillas you will have around an hour to spend with them, quietly enjoying the interaction of the family groups before you head back to the lodge. The rest of the day is then at leisure. (B,L,D) DAY 12: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK - LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK From your lodge in Bwindi you will start your journey east passing through some stunning countryside en-route to the Lake Mburo National Park. The 250km journey will take around five hours including a stop for refreshments along the way. Lake Mburo National Park is the only place in the south that is home to zebras and the only park in the country where you will see impalas. With only a handful of big predators, the park allows for more walks, horse-riding and cycling, and so after settling in this afternoon you can enjoy a leisurely evening cycle as you take in the stunning wildlife and nature around you. (B,L,D) DAY 13: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK Today you will have an early morning guided nature walk, before returning to the hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo, which attracts various species of birds species. Later in the evening, will be welcomed by a local community who are mainly cattle keepers in the region. They will take you through what they do on a daily basis including cattle rearing, cattle watering, milking and how to make local butter (Cow ghee) as well as stories about their famous Ankole long horned cattle. (B,L,D) DAY 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK - ENTEBBE After breakfast, you will start your journey back to Entebbe, where you will arrive at the airport and catch your flight back home. (B)

ACCOMMODATION ENTEBBE BOMA GUEST HOUSE Only a few minutes drive from Entebbe Airport, the Boma Guest House is set within a leafy suburb of Entebbe. Enter the flower filled garden to reach an intimate atmosphere characterful of an original 1940 s home. The colonial building is adorned with English-colonial furniture and African fabrics. You will see the lounge and reception area, where you use the Wi-Fi and the hotel computer to connect with friends and family. The restaurant and bar, serving European, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine, leads onto the terrace overlooking the gardens and Lake Victoria, the perfect spot for afternoon tea. KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK APOKA SAFARI LODGE Apoka Safari Lodge is found in the remote outpost of the Kidepo Valley National Park in the far North of Uganda and is currently the only commercial lodge operating in the park. This ensures visitors who make the journey up here can explore this stunning wilderness in the utmost privacy. There are ten cottages at Apoka, with two family cottages and eight standard cottages, all of which are beautifully appointed with views out over the open savannah, Narus valley or nearby mountains depending on which cottage you stay in. They all have thick canvas walls and thatched rooves which help to keep them cool in summer and warm in winter. Inside they have a very traditional feel to them with hardwood furnishings, mosquito net draped beds and spacious en-suite bathrooms with full amenities and outdoor baths. The main area of the lodge is a vast open-sided lounge area which looks out across the plains and is packed with comfy sofas and chairs for afternoons relaxing. The large swimming pool is another great spot to relax in the afternoons and take in the stunning views and watch animals wander by the lodge. The food here is superb, especially considering the remote location and is a real feature of any stay at Apoka. Activities at Apoka take the form of game drives, guided walks, picnic lunches in the bush and visits to the local communities which the lodge helps to support. MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

PARAA SAFARI LODGE Paraa Safari Lodge boasts an enviable location in the Western part of the Murchison Falls National Park, looking out across the mighty River Nile. It is one of the longest established lodges in the park and a superb spot from which to enjoy the astonishing variety of activities on offer here. There are 56 rooms of varying styles here, although as they are spread over such a large area there is never the feeling that the lodge is overly busy. All of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms with flush loos and hot & cold running water, with the Deluxe Rooms boasting air conditioning. The Suites or Queen s Cottage are the best options for families as they have the most space, whilst the Safari Tents are ideal for guests looking for a more traditional experience. At the main part of the lodge there is a fantastic restaurant and bar area as well as an outdoor swimming pool with panoramic views out over the surrounding area. The small gift shop sells a variety of locally crafted curios and guests looking to be pampered can also enjoy a variety of massage treatments. All activities at Paraa can be pre-booked or arranged locally and there is a huge amount to see and do here. Trips to the Murchison Falls are always popular, whilst boat safaris, catch and release fishing, game drives and guided walks are all offered. Further afield trips to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and chimp trekking can also be arranged. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK ISHASHA WILDERNESS CAMP Boasting a wonderful location in the Southern sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a wonderfully traditional lodge and an ideal base for safari purists looking to explore this iconic Ugandan National Park. There are ten spacious tents here, all of which look out across the waters of the Ntungwe River. Inside the tents are very comfortable with mosquito net draped beds, en-suite bathrooms with full amenities and small verandas at the front where guests can relax in the afternoons. The social hub of the lodge is the large thatchroofed main area which houses the lounge, dining room and bar. The lounge is open sided so guests can gaze out across the bush to the river and take in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. There is a small curio shop at the lodge where guests can by a range of locally crafted gifts. Activities here can be arranged and paid for locally, with guests able to enjoy a wide range of things to do. Chief amongst these activities are game drives, with early morning and late afternoon departures to spot the abundant animal life of the park. In addition to this boat cruises, community visits, hot air ballooning and chimpanzee trekking can all be arranged. SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK

SEMLIKI SAFARI LODGE Occupying an enviable location between the foothills of the Mountains of the Moon and the brooding mass of Lake Albert, Semliki Safari Lodge is the ideal spot from which to explore the Semliki Wildlife Reserve and enjoy the excellent game viewing which is synonomous with the park. There are eight safari tents at the lodge including a larger family tent all of which are beautifully appointed with stunning views out to the bush. They all have hardwood floors, mosquito net draped beds and shaded verandas at the front which are a great place to sit in the afternoon and watch the world go by. En-suite bathrooms with hot running water are found at the rear of each room and a variety of toiletries are provided. The communal area of the lodge is beautifully located on top of a hill looking out across the pristine bush and towards the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. The bar is a popular spot for guests to congregate before dinner and share tales of a day spent exploring the reserve before moving through to the dining room to enjoy a sumptuous dinner. The swimming pool is the ideal place to spend the afternoons soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the stunning views. One game drive a day is included in a stay at Semliki and beyond this guests are able to enjoy guided walks, birding excursions, trips to a chimpanzee research project and boat trips on Lake Albert.
