Overnight at Carpe Diem Guesthouse (B&B). ** Note: the airport pick up will be arranged by your guesthouse. ** Carpe Diem Guesthouse is located close to the airport and offers great views of Lake Victoria. The guesthouse is small and intimate, with 4 comfortable en-suite rooms and a coffee shop. DAY 2 Entebbe Lake Mburo National Park (6 hrs) After breakfast we will head southwest to Lake Mburo National Park. On our way we will pass the Ugandan Equator where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before we continue to the national park. Check in at your accommodation located on the top of a hill and enjoy the wonderful views. In the late afternoon we will go on a game drive to get a closer look at the wildlife that surrounds us. Dinner and overnight at Mburo Eagles Nest. (B-L-D) Mburo Eagles Nest is located high on a hill, on the edge of Lake Mburo National Park. The lodge offers rustic safari tents including a private bathroom with eco toilet and bush shower. Do not be surprised if grazing zebras are your "wake up call" in the morning!
DAY 3 Lake Mburo National Park Bwindi National Park (5 hrs) Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the African bush! Early in the morning we will join a guided safari walk to explore the park on foot. After a delicious breakfast we will calmly depart the protected area and drive to Bwindi National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge. (B-L-D) Silverback Lodge is a cozy lodge perched high, atop the valley overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The architectural design is simple and natural, yet filled with character. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and comfortable chairs on the veranda to take in the sweeping views of the valley and forests that surround it. DAY 4 Gorilla Tracking The highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Those who prefer not to participate in the gorilla tracking can go for a guided forest walk or explore the surroundings with the Buhoma Village Walk. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge. (B-L-D) DAY 5 Bwindi National Park Kibale Forest National Park (7 hrs) After an early breakfast we head to another tropical rainforest. En route we will pass the vast savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where we will go in search of the tree climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch before we proceed towards the foothills of the Mountains of the Moon and finally reach Kibale Forest National Park, for an overnight in the middle of the African jungle. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale cottages. (B-L-D) The cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale are located in the heart of Kibale Forest, right at the starting point for chimpanzee trekking. All of them have en-suite bathrooms and a private veranda to take in the view of the rainforest and (often!) a number of primates.
DAY 6 Kibale Forest & Bigodi Village Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, blackand-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to Bigodi Village for a community walk that will bring you closer to the local tribe that lives in this area. Accompanied by a local guide, who can tell you everything about the traditional customs and lifestyle, you will follow the village path and visit a primary school, traditional homesteads and learn more about the crops. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale cottages. (B-L-D) DAY 7 Kibale Forest National Park Entebbe (6-7 hrs) Time to say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa! After breakfast we calmly back towards the capital city with lunch en route. Look out for the black-and-white colobus monkeys which are hiding along the road. From Kampala we continue to Entebbe where you will be dropped at the International Airport in time for your flight.
