In addition to a high-quality summer camp experience, we also offer before and after camp care at no additional charge! Save $40 Each Day! From 7 to 9AM and from 4 to 6PM, we care for your child before camp starts each day and after it ends each day at no additional charge. That s a savings of at least $40 each day for each child. Save $100! With our sibling savings option, you save more for each additional child you send together to camp. For each additional child who attends camp, you save $10 a week! Summer camp is a great time for your child to learn to swim. It s convenient for you, and great fun for your child! We offer swim lessons two days a week. Your child will learn floating, basic swim strokes and skills appropriate for her/his age and swim level all under the guidance of our certified swim instructors. Safety Comes First Our day camps meet the highest health and safety standards of the Y and the NYS Health Department. Camps are inspected twice each year by the Department of Health and files are available for inspection at your county health department office. OUR PROGRAMS Summer Literacy Enrichment Our Summer Book Club gives us the chance to help develop your child s love of reading, and strengthen your child s literacy skills. Our staff will provide campers with fun activities to enrich their literacy all summer long. Day Camp Entering Grades 1 9 We help your child build confidence while enjoying a variety of activities that encourage your child to develop independence while learning new skills. Campers enjoy swimming, sports, art, and special events. Children enjoy activities that involve social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. Campers are divided into groups by age, with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group. Each week has a fun theme and for grades 3 and up includes a field trip! Children also engage in community building projects and many opportunities for personal growth with our focus on discovery, hands-on education, and enriched learning opportunities. NEW TRIPS! Junior Travel Camp Travel Camp Entering Grades 4 5 Grades 6 9 Weeks 2 8 Children enjoy fun trips to the Great Escape, the Saratoga County Fair, the Bronx Zoo, and the Musuem of Science in Boston. SPECIALTY & SPORTS CAMPS Specialty and Sports Camps are full day camps. Campers will have lunch and swim with their specialty or sports camp group. SPECIALTY CAMPS GRADES 1-3 LEGO Camp Grades 1-3 Weeks 1 & 5 Get inspired with some of the world s most iconic construction tools: LEGOs. Campers enjoy structured activities, free build time and fun games designed to spark imagination and challenge creativity. Young Explorers Camp Grades 1-3 Weeks 2 & 10 Sometimes kids just need to be outside! If your child enjoys playing in the outdoors and getting dirty, this camp is for them. Campers experience the outdoors while learning basic outdoor survival techniques. Cooking Family Favorites Camp Grades 1-3 Weeks 3 & 7 Chefs in this camp learn how to plan, prep, and cook different meals each day. Each camper can bring two of their family s favorite, kid-friendly recipes. Monday of this camp will be spent planning the recipes for the week and walking to Hannaford to buy all the ingredients. STEM Camp Grades 1-3 Weeks 4 & 9 Through hands-on investigations, campers experience a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts. Campers create take home projects and develop observation, communication and collaboration skills. Paint Like Picasso Grades 1-3 Week 6 Get ready to paint, draw, mold and create masterpieces under the direction of an expert art teacher. Your masterpieces will be displayed at Friday s Camp Art Expo. SPECIALTY CAMPS GRADES 4 & UP Aspiring Artists Grades 4 & Up Week 1 Do you have the gift of drawing? Do you enjoy art?? Aspiring artists create paintings, mold clay, make jewelry and design their own masterpieces under the direction of an expert art teacher. Artwork will be on display at Friday s Camp Art Expo. Crafty Corner Camp Grades 4 & Up Weeks 2 & 10 Calling all creative campers! Campers enjoy a variety of craft creations! Each day campers create different projects to take home and show off. Possible crafts include duct tape creations, throw pillow, no-sew blanket, and more. Intro to Video Game Design Camp Grades 4 & Up Week 3 Create your own video game in this fun, stimulating camp for mini gamers. At the conclusion of this camp, campers will challenge each other to play the game they designed. Digital Photography Camp Grades 4 & Up Weeks 5 & 9 Looking to capture a special moment? Try this handson camp that explores camera use, photo composition, perspective and lighting that will bring out your young Ansel Adams. Each day campers participate in a photo safari that will culminate in a gallery exhibit at the end of the week. Campers need to bring their own digital camera. Comic Book Art Camp Grades 4 & Up Week 7 Some of the most popular movies including The Avengers and Spiderman started as comic books! Bake-Off Camp Grades 4 & Up Week 8 Based on the national baking competition, campers recreate some of the most popular treats! From cakes with delectable icing to cupcakes and all kinds of breads, we will develop some seasoned bakers by the end of this camp. Swim Camp Grades 4 & Up Week 9 Swim Camp is designed for those who can swim 50 yards. Campers work to improve and refine the four competitive strokes, sets, starts and finishes along with a healthy dose of teamwork and sportsmanship! LANGUAGE CAMPS Your child may choose to attend any 3-hour language camp or stay for the full day with the YMCA Camp Extension. Campers split into age appropriate groups. The focus is on teaching basketball fundamentals (footwork, dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, etc.) and enhancing current skill levels for all campers. Cheer Camp Grades 1-3 Week 2 Cheer Camp is designed to develop confidence, skills and teamwork. Campers experience a dynamic fun filled program combining dance, cheers and chants. Campers showcase their newfound skills during our camp Homecoming Game. Flag Football Grades 1-3 Week 2 Are you ready for some football? Passing, catching, positioning and defense are all part of this interactive camp that teaches skills while having fun. Campers showcase their newfound skills during our camp Homecoming Game. Soccer Grades 1-3 Week 3 Grades 4 & Up Week 7 Dribble, shoot, pass and defend during this camp focused on soccer fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship! Campers participate in age-appropriate drills, engaging activities and scrimmages. Campers should come with shin guards. Baseball Grades 1-3 Week 5 Grades 4 & Up Week 9 Batter up! Learn and develop the fundamentals of the game including throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and positioning. Campers may bring their own glove, helmet and bat. Street Hockey Grades 1-3 Week 6 Grades 4 & Up Week 10 Campers can improve their stick handling, passing and shooting skills during Street Hockey Camp. WEEKLY CAMP THEMES Week 1: Heroes Week Come help us save the world! We will enjoy a week at camp doing fun activities and great games. We will be celebrating ALL HEROES from comic book heroes to real life heroes! Week 2: Party in the USA Oh say can you see... all the fun this week! We will explore what makes our country unique and what the colors red, white and blue stand for. Campers will also have fun preparing, creating, and sending a care package to a solider. Week 3: Camp s Got Talent Whether it s acting, singing, or kazoo playing, campers spend the week preparing to showcase their unique talent in the camp talent show. Week 4: Globetrotters Pack your bags and grab your passports. We re off on new adventures learning about different cultures and countries through games, music, and crafts. We ll end the week with our camp Parade of Nations. Week 5: Spy Kids Mission Impossible It s your mission, if you choose to accept it... make and analyze finger prints, decipher codes, and participate in scavenger hunts. Week 6: Camp Carnival Campers create a fun-filled carnival for the whole camp to enjoy. Enjoy water games, face painting, ring toss, potato sack races and so much more. Week 7: Color Wars During Color Wars, camp is split between two teams and campers and staff participate in a spirited competition. Color Wars offers everything from sporting events to educational events, arts events and more, so every camper has a chance to participate in the fun. Week 8: Star Wars Week A long time ago in a camp NOT so far away... lt s time to blast off into the galaxy and bring your droids with you! Fly your Millennium Falcon down to camp and prepare to have an amazing time. The force is strong with your camper during this fun week. Week 9: Back to the Future Have you ever wondered what it was like in the 70s, 80s, or 90s? Come to camp and see into the past. What games did people play? How did they dress? Was the music different? You have to be here to experience the throwback while we enjoy a touch of modern life! Week 10: Wild and Wacky Week Upside down, back to front, right way up... lt s going to be a topsy-turvy kind of week at camp but one thing is for sure it s going to be awesome!!!
