June 20, 2018 Club President Kevin Schneider called the first summer meeting to order at Tim & Laurie Krawczyk s home. There were thirty-six members present. What a beautiful night for a meeting. Thank you, Tim & Laurie, for hosting us at your beauftil estate!! GOVERNOR S REPORT If anyone would like to convert their magnet nametag to a pin, Doug has the pins available for this. Dilly Dilly!! TREASURER REPORT Ann Schneider reported on the finances of the Club and they were approved. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM The 6th National Corvette Caravan is slated for August 28-31, 2019 and will mark the Museum s 25th Anniversary. Leading the charge will be Jeffrey Duda of Hainesport, NJ, a Lifetime Member of the Museum and previous co-captain of the New Jersey 2014 and 2009 Caravans. Starting in late August you should be able to go online and book a hotel room for the event. You can visit http://www.corvettecaravan.com/ for more information regarding this event. The museum continues to offer great raffles and other fun opportunities for Corvette enthusiasts to participate in. OLD AND NEW FOND DE VETTES NEWS OLD BUSINESS: Kevin & Kari Schneider hosted a fish fry to Waverly Beach on Friday May 18 th! Yay it didn t snow this year!! Waverly did a great job accommodating our large party. Thanks to all who joined us for this fun evening! The Club s annual Trip Around the Lake was Sunday June 3 rd. The weather was good and we had a great turnout! The Knight of Columbus did another great job on the food. I did not hear any complaints! A BIG Thank you to Holiday Automotive for all their support they give our Club for this event! Thank you also to all the Club members who volunteered and helped out throughout the day. You should be very proud of what we were able to do as a Club for local charities! The donations we received from both the 50/50 raffle and food pantry were outstanding! Ken & Charlene Schepper hosted a drive to Bublit z car show on Wednesday June 6 th. Eleven cars from the Club joined the road trip to Lomira. Thank you, Ken & Charlene, for hosting this night s event! Walley Weekend Security was thankfully pretty quiet and uneventful. Club members spent Friday & Saturday night June 8 th & 9 th ensuring Lakeside Park was secure throughout the night. Thank you to all the
volunteers who were willing to give up a night (some of them two) of sleep. Greg Teichmiller coordinated the security for the Club this year. Thank you, Greg, for your time & efforts in organizing this event for the Club! Club day for June Sprints was Saturday June 15 th. There were around fifteen Club member cars that drove in the caravan to Road America and hung out in the Corvette Corral. Thank you, Tim & Laurie, for leading us there. Give me shelter! The Club would also like to express us appreciation for the members who get to the corral early and get the tents erected. The shelter is greatly appreciated!! NEW BUSINESS: There will be a Wounded Warriors softball game at the Dock Spiders stadium (Herr-Baker Field) on Saturday August 11 th. The first game is a seven-inning game between WWAST/USA Patriots Softball and the Fond du Lac Fire Department. It will start at Noon. After the completion of the first game, there will be a Home Run Derby. The second game of the doubleheader will start at 3:00 PM and will be a seven-inning game that pits WWAST/USA Patriots Softball against the Fond du Lac Police Department. Following this game, Mozart s Cadillac will be playing in the Dockyard, along the 3 rd base line. Admission is free for the event and gates will open at 11:00AM. Food and Beverage will be available for purchase and no carry-ins will be allowed. Stay tuned for more information regarding possibly getting together for this event as a Club. Ken & Charleen Schepper are thinking of hosting a Go-Cart day/evening at Road America. A sign-up sheet went around to see if there is enough interest in this type of event. Stay tuned for more details. Tim & Laurie Krawczyk will be hosting a Trip to the Woods / Pig Roast on Saturday September 8 th. This is a free event for Club members and their families. More details will be made available as we get closer to the date. Sign-up sheet was at the meeting and will be available at upcoming meetings as well. ***July meeting Wednesday the 18th is a bit of a Wild Card. It is supposed to be a nice evening so we thought we would try to have the meeting at Lakeside Park. Which shelter?? Drive around until you find the Corvettes! Here s a hint; we are planning to have the meeting at the Deneveu Shelter that is located at the East end of the park at the corner of Winnebago Drive & Harbor View Drive. There are picnic tables there, but please bring chairs in case they are needed. After the meeting, for anyone that is interested, Ed Foy will lead the group the Kelley s Creamery.
