Air Harbour Air Harbour Air is located at Unit 1A - 90 Front Street, in the Pioneer Waterfront Plaza across from the Lighthouse Bistro. Ferry Regular, frequent ferry service connects the island to mainland B.C. The trip itself is a holiday as the ships weave a path past myriad forested islands. Marine life, including orca (killer whales) and seals, are often spotted. Nanaimo's arrival is at either Departure Bay or Duke Point Ferry Terminals. We highly recommend that you reserve your travel on BC Ferries. B.C. Ferry Corporation Extensive passenger/vehicle ferry system linking the B.C. Mainland with Vancouver Island. Travel time between Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) and Departure Bay (Nanaimo) is 1 hour 35 minutes and between Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Duke Point (Nanaimo) is 2 hours. BC Ferry Group Reservations Reservations may be made for groups of 10 or more passengers, travelling together on foot or in a bus. Discount rates are available on some routes for groups of 16 or more, apply to passenger fares only, and are valid only for travel reserved a minimum of seven days in advance. For example, you need to submit your reservation request by Monday to receive discounted rates for the following Monday. You can submit your reservation on the BC Ferry website https://www.bcferries.com/res/group.html. BC Ferry Group also offers some free travel to sports teams traveling to and from Vancouver Island.
