BENT TREE VILLAS WEST CONDO ASSOCIATION A 55 AND OLDER COMMUNITY OFFICE 736-0455 FAX 736-5304 January 2019 Dear Neighbors, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year to everyone. We also say Thank You to everyone who helped setting up the beautiful holiday decorations. Also to all the volunteers that helped during this past year, Thank You. As most everyone knows, there will not be an election for Board of Directors this year. Four residents have chosen to donate their time and effort. To the following individuals, Steve Brignola, Mary Dietrich, Ray Roskob, and Jimmy Vecchione, we thank you for stepping up for the good of the community. I look forward to your continuation in the beautification of our community. Residents have come forward expressing their happiness that some plants were replaced, hopefully we can do more. There are still many places that had plants and are still void of them. Resident s Corner... This is YOUR Monthly Newsletter...Your comments & suggestions are always welcome for submission. Thanks to all for your cooperation! The Entertainment Committee had their Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting on December 2nd. There were 35-40 people there. There were lots of cookies and cakes donated and everyone that attended had a great time. The Women s Club had their Holiday Celebration Dinner on Saturday, December 15. We had about 50 people attend and everyone said they enjoyed the meal, the movie and especially spending time with good friends. Thank you to those who attended. The Women s Club will be going on a bus tour of the Sugar Harvest on January 7th. Please see their flyer for more details. They will be having their membership drive on January 16th. Please see their flyer for more details. The Community Club will be having their Membership Night on January 3rd. They are having an Italian Dinner on January 19, 2019. We hope to see you at our next event. Please see attached flyer for details. Please remember to slow down upon entering the community and fully STOP at all STOP Signs. There have been several near misses in here. The health & safety of everyone needs cooperation from everyone. Please remember garbage days are Wednesday & Saturday. There have been additional sightings of raccoons in the area. If you want to put your garbage out the night before please make sure to have it in a closed container. Please do not put bags of garbage out for the ducks or other animals to tear apart. Not only is it unsightly, it invites wild animals to your home when you leave garbage bags out the night before. Please do not feed the ducks. If you experience problems with your trash/recycling collection, please call Republic at 478-9590. This is my last newsletter as your manager. It is time for me to go. I just wanted to thank you for welcoming me into your community. As many of you know, 11 years ago that I began working part time while my kids were in school to be available to help with homework. With my kids graduating there is no homework to help with and I have way too much time on my hands. I am looking forward to starting a new challenge with a new job. When I came here, I was given a vision of what this place could look like. I have worked hard to build & be part of a team to clean this place up. There is still much work to be done. Someone once told me that many hands make light work. This has never been more true when it comes to this community. When I look out at board meetings I see many people that have volunteered their time over the years for the good of the community. Please take the time to thank these former board members for all the hard work they have put in for you. Please thank all the people that invest their time to plan parties and to do bingo for you every week. They are a shinning example of teamwork that makes Bent Tree Villas West so special. I hope when it is time for me to retire I find a place with so many people dedicated to make their community a family the way you do. It has been a blessing to be part of your community. Yours truly Victoria Thomas. January Birthdays Donna Clarke January 1st Michael Caporale January 3rd Page 4 BTVW Newsletter
