Truly, I know the energy and time it takes to step out of your life as a mom, travel to the Big Island and commit to unplugging for 5 days. My team and I are planning for your arrival, and holding the intention for you to arrive on Wednesday, August 17 th at our opening circle, at peace and ready to rest, replenish, dream, create and PLAY. Location Our time together will be held in the beautiful tropical and spacious setting at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa. We recommend that you check-in and get settled into your room right at 3:00. Then you ll head over to the Bayside Lawn for our opening circle at 4pm.
Our Closing Circle will complete on Sunday, the 21st, at approximately 2pm after a closing lunch. Transportation options from Kona airport: The airport is approximately 10 miles from the Sheraton. The drive is 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic and the method of transportation that you choose. Shuttle: A convenient mode of transportation between the Kona airport and Sheraton Hotel is the Roberts Hawaii Express Shuttle. This shuttle guarantees no more than 5 stops to your hotel destination. Cost: $22 per person one way or $40 round trip. Includes two standard pieces of luggage and one carry on. The estimated travel time via taxi from the airport is 20-40 minutes. The cost is approximately $55.00 each way. There is a $7 valet parking charge each day. Weather The weather in Kona looks to be in the upper 80 s, with a fair chance of beautiful tropical rain each day. Yes, it rains a lot in Hawaii :-). The temps at night will be in the upper 70 s. Since the weather and rain will likely change/come and go throughout the day, you ll want to bring layers of clothing, such as a wrap, jacket and pair of long pants that you can easily take off and put on to adjust to the temperature. What to Bring Bring your intentions, desires, dreams, visions and your authentic expression of that which you most desire to receive during our retreat together. Bring all the perfect and imperfect parts and above all, bring your unabashed willingness to dive in and be present.
And here s a list of the physical items you ll want to pack! Clothing: Casual and comfortable clothing (whatever FEELS really good to you!), with layers for weather changes. Since we ll be in tropical paradise, bring anything colorful, light and FUN! Exercise clothes if you d like to take a brisk walk in the morning, do some yoga or use the fitness center. Swimsuit and sunblock to take advantage of the beach and pool. Towels will be provided at the hotel for use during your stay. A comfortable pair of walking shoes, as well as flip flops or sandals. Snacks: We will be providing some snacks during session times. However, you may want to bring some additional food or snacks so you feel well cared for. This is all about self-care, so please do take care of yourself and bring whatever you d like to nibble on during breaks to keep your energy flowing. Each hotel room includes a mini-fridge for you to store small items. If possible, we recommend purchasing any food and personal items in advance, so that you can spend your free time relaxing. However, to shop for any items that you need, there is a Trolley service which is included complimentary during your stay. The trolley operates beginning at 9:00 a.m. with its last drop off back at the resort at 9:15 p.m. Shuttle stops include Keauhou Shopping Center, Kahalu'u Beach Park, Walmart, Macy's, Historic Kailua Village and the Kona Commons Shopping Center. More information will be provided to you upon your arrival. Other Items to bring: A sacred, personal item for our group altar that represents you as a mom. What is it about you as a mother that is unique and special to you? This could be a photo, a sacred object, a crystal, a poem or anything else you feel a connection to A water bottle to keep with you while you are in session. Toiletry items there will be hairdryers, shampoos, lotion and soap provided in the rooms. However, be sure to bring any additional items you may need for self-care with you, as it s easier than having to buy them when you re at the retreat. Sunblock and possibly a sun hat and sunglasses. Lots of sun! For anyone sharing a room, we recommend bringing a pair of earplugs. Pen or markers for journaling Meals Your Mama Truth Retreat Includes the following meals: Wednesday, the 17th - Opening Dinner on the Bayside Lawn Thursday, the 18th - Lunch served at Rays on the Bay Restaurant Saturday, the 20th - Lunch served on the boat while going to swim with dolphins (lunch will be on lighter side). Sunday, the 21st - Closing Lunch served at Rays on the Bay Restaurant Sarah will be in touch to receive your dietary requests, so that we can plan appropriately for means, which will all be healthy, delicious and nutritious!
For meals which are not included, there are several restaurants within the hotel, which include breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Breakfast will be on your own every day. There is a daily breakfast buffet at the Ainakai Restaurant on site. For those who booked their room through our special Mama Truth Retreat rate, you ll also receive breakfast coupons upon arrival. Final Details + Amenities As a final reminder, you will want to arrive at the Retreat on Wednesday, August 17th, at 3pm for check-in, and then at 4pm will be our Opening Circle. We will be having dinner at around 6 pm, to give you enough time afterwards to get some good sleep before our first session on Wednesday morning. Our Retreat will come to a close on Sunday, August 21st, at approximately 2pm. We will provide you with an outline of our retreat schedule upon your arrival to the Hotel. However, please know that our mornings will start around 9:30 or 10 am, with the exception of our dolphin excursion, which will begin at 7am (we ll talk more about that when we re together). We will also have regular breaks and room for downtime, meals and rest. For now, we simply want you to prepare and be ready for the unknown and allow the magic to occur during our time together. You have the following amenities included in your stay at no extra cost to you: Down pillows, down comforters and luxurious, soft cotton linens! Although, we recommend and ask that you step away from the world of technology as much as possible to stay connected with the energy of the retreat and keep you free from outside distractions. If you can be TOTALLY off line for the entire retreat, that is highly recommended as this really is an investment in you and you want to make the most of this experience. Use of Jacuzzi s, Fitness Center and Pools Should you want to book a lovely spa treatment during our retreat, below are some open windows of time when you d be able to book your own treatment. Friday before 1pm. You ll have Friday morning/early afternoon to yourself if you d like to book a treatment then. Saturday between 1:30 and 3:30 after the dolphin excursion (please note you will likely be tired from the energy of dolphin play!)
