This year, the international Wizard Championship takes place for the first time in Hungary. Coming from 11 countries, the Wizard Champions together with the Vice- Champion will confront one another in Budapest. In October last year, Josef Sigl won the International Wizard Championship 2011 held in Germany at Burg Frankenstein. We look forward to experience a fair and exciting competition this year in Hungary. Budapest Budapest is the capital of Hungary, with nearly 2,000,000 inhabitants. Not only it is the centre of administration but also that of industry, trade, transport and traffic, education, culture, arts and sports. The city is divided into two parts by the Danube in a north-southerly direction. The hilly left bank is called Buda, with over 20 hills within the territory of the capital, and the plain right bank is called Pest. There are 3 islands on the Danube within Budapest. The Csepel Island, whose northern tip protrudes into the capital, the historical Margaret Island, and the Óbudai Island in the North. The Szentendre Island, which is to the North from the capital, reaches all the way up to the Danube Bend. Budapest is the only capital city in the world which has thermal springs. Some 125 springs produce 70 million litres of thermal water a day, with temperatures ranging up to 58 Celsius. Some of these waters have medicinal effects due to their medically valuable mineral contents.
