PARADOR DE SORIA

Parador de Soria Surroundings

Explore Soria by wandering the streets of the city of poets, visiting the avenues, squares, side streets and spots that enchanted Bécquer, Machado and Gerardo Diego. You will find architectural treasures such as Santo Domingo Church and the Co-cathedral of San Pedro. The experience will also lead you to discover this lovely province, with such fascinatingly beautiful places as the villages of Calatañazor and El Burgo de Osma, the ruins of the Celtiberian settlement of Numantia, Serena Cave, vineyards lapped by the waters of the Douro River, and charming, small villages with medieval architecture. Urban hotels at the heart of the city Parador de Soria Rooms

How to arrive The Parador is located in Parque del Castillo (Castle Park), an extremely beautiful wooded area. Follow signs for the park through the city. If you are traveling from Madrid, take the Soria Sur exit for the city center and the Parador. From Valladolid and Burgos, take the Soria Oeste exit. To reach the Parador, continue through the city until you come to the Co-cathedral of San Pedro. Turn right and follow signs for the Parador. From Logroño (Soria Norte exit) and Zaragoza/Pamplona (Soria Este exit), the co-cathedral is also the landmark for the turn-off to the Parador. 10 must-visit sites San Juan de Rabanera Roman church Discover the local area At the Parador de Soria you will enjoy a unique stay. Its high, strategic location in Soria, next to the ruins of the Castle, looking out over the River Duero, make this Parador the best place to enjoy this city of poets. A 15 minute walk along wooden walkways takes you to the River Duero. The poet, Antonio Machado used to walk along here with his wife, Leonor, and here you can enjoy the tranquillity which inspired the poet with some of his most popular work. Let us not forget the chapel of San Saturio and the arches of San Juan de Duero. From the Parador, there is also a path into the city, along which the main square, Plaza Mayor, can be reached in less than 10 minutes. In Soria you can wander along the streets and visit emblematic places such as the Palacio de los Condes de Gómara, as well as trying the typical "torreznos" pork scratchings, the...
