Edited by Jack Steinhauser www.denverrceagles.org Denver R/C Club Meeting Minutes November 21, 2018 Regular Mee ng of Denver R/C Eagles was held on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Colpar s Hobby Town, 1915 South Havana Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80014. Refreshments provided prior to start of mee ng. Mee ng called to order at 6:35 PM. Board Members present; Loren Anderson, President, Dan Kellogg, Vice President, Mike Eason, Secretary, Richard Lowrey and Rodney Ge y, Co-Treasurers, Jack Steinhauser, Past President. A quorum is 9 members present. 20 members a ending and 1 guest, we have a quorum. New Members and Guests Club welcomed Guest Mike Brinkman. Mike flies quads, copters and planes and came to mee ng to check out the club for membership. Message from President Loren Anderson Dear Members, As the year ends, we s ll have a major last item to do. We will be holding elec on of officers at our next Approval of Minutes from October Mee ng mee ng on December 19 th. Our annual dinner was held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 12/19 Club Mee ng last Thursday, and we had Leadership Reports about 30 people in a endance. It was a fun event and we had a great me. Annual Dinner will be held at Golden Coral on December 13, 2018 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. We have a private room which can accommodate 72 people. Budget Review Prepared by Dick Lowrey and Rodney Ge y Copies of proposed Budget for 2019 were passed We are looking ahead to next year with a full schedule of events and great weather. Those of you that want to order jackets please send me an email with quan es and sizes. We hope to get the order together in January. The yearly club dues have not been increased for a very long me and the need to raise dues was discussed as well. Jack Steinhauser will con- nue on Board as Immediate Past President. Elec- ons will be at Decembers Regular Mee ng on the 19 th of December. Loren Anderson reported that several members requested that gravel be placed along new taxiways. Gravel near taxiways present some problems and it was suggested that dirt with the plan ng of grass would be be er. Loren will see if he can get the park to provide the grass seed and a load of dirt will be brought out to fill areas as needed. Dick Lowrey suggested if the dues were to be raised that doing it now would be preferred. This would make it simpler since renewals are due the first of the year. Mike Swan made mo on to increase the yearly dues to $75. Mike Eason made second. Mo- on passed 13 yeas and 1 nay. Vice President-Dan Kellogg Nothing to Report Secretary-Mike Eason Nothing to Report Co-Treasurers-Dick Lowrey and Rodney Ge y 133 members currently, the same number as last year. The count now has been revised to 129 as Family Memberships will be counted as one instead of coun ng each member of the family. There are 34 new members. Levels of the clubs accounts was reported and club is solvent. Director of Flight Training-John Dickens Not many new trainees and those that have started have not returned. Mouse count has not changed and it was suggest that a new container of peanut bu er might be required. Safety Officer-Joe Vedova Joe could not a end but no fied Loren that the finger count remains the same. Bylaws Revisions Changes were reviewed at last month s mee ng. Tom Neff made mo on to approve changes. Mike Swan seconded mo on and mo on passed. John Dickens was recognized for all the work he did. John will update the changes at the required loca- ons. Old and New Business John Dickens asked about the Fun Fly. The membership reported on events and par cipants. It was fun and we did fly. What can we do next year to make it be er was discussed. Auc on Auc oneer-tom Neff ¼ scale J3 cub was not sold at Wings Over the Rockies Auc on and the owner donated to the club to be auc oned off. The plane has 110 inch wing span and a Sacto 100 motor. Paul Schlein won with bid of $50. FMS B-25 donated by Jack Steinhauser is an electric twin motor with retracts. Joe Apice won with bid of $90. Old and New Business Tom Neff provided results from the Wings Over the Rockies Auc on. There were 184 items sold with an average bid of $51.66. 29 items were pasted..93% of all items were not sold.
