Upon arrival I observed a maroon 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan bearing Missouri license that had been involved in a motor vehicle crash. The area was canvassed but no occupants were located. While enroute to the area, Belton Police Department advised me that if the driver of the vehicle in the ditch was located and identified as Austin J. Calvert, to detain Mr. Calvert for a stealing that occurred earlier in the shift, in their jurisdiction. After arriving on scene, Mr. Calvert walked to the scene. 02/11/18 22:27 J/217TH TER, PECULIAR On 02-11-2018 at 2229 hours, I was dispatched to the intersection of E. 217th Terr. and J Hwy. in reference to an abandoned vehicle that has been in the ditch for the past 2 days. The reporting party also advised that a male subject had removed items from the vehicle and left the area. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
