Brekky Run to Eagle Heights 2

From the Chairman The recent cyclonic winds and rain caused much devastation in many areas of our state, Mount Tamborine coming in for a fair share of this. However last Sunday, 10 th, was a lovely clear morning and we were able to enjoy a wonderful get- together at the Eagle Heights Hotel, arranged so capably by Ron Gaudion. Ron arranged three excellent prizes and a goodly sum raised. 47 members came along for this the first day out for the 2013. This support augers well for the coming events throughout the year. Torque magazine will continue to come to you by post. There have been many discussions and some soul searching lately about alternative methods of keeping you all in touch whilst trying to ease the burden of the printing and postage costs. Our plan is to try and raise more funds by our raffles partially to offset these costs. Prizes donated by members would help the bottom line greatly as they have in the past. A committee meeting was held after the breakfast, arranging the calendar for the year ahead with many committee members offering to arrange outings for us. Secretary John will arrange for this calendar to be set in the JDCQ web site and also in their Jaguar Driver magazine. The time to redo our insurances for three low usage cars came along the other day. Our broker recommended The Enthusiasts Car Insurance. This is, I believe, a relatively new company with Suncorp backing run by Cliff Chambers, a past member I understand. The premiums were down 50% in total with agreed values and limited use. Extended use to Rallies etc. can be accepted by notification beforehand. Well worth considering. Club Event Payment John Hornabrook For members wishing to pay for club activities by Direct Deposit to the bank, the following details are below.
