The Breuner family from San Francisco was the third owners of the property and they sold it to the Vern Van Ness family of both San Francisco and Fresno fame. Vern Van Ness developed the property utilizing the natural springs that produce many gallons of crystal clear water per day. He also built the original single story residence on site while raising horses and cattle. Sonny Meadows is now owned by a family trust and during the mid 1990 s they personally expanded the original residence using heavy milled timber harvested from the ranch. The lodge is now two stories high totaling approximately 3,000 sq.ft. plus covered porches facing the meadow, with eight bedrooms, eight baths, two kitchens, a parlor and dining areas. The water system is from the natural springs onsite. The Lodge s electricity is supplied from a portable generator, propane gas is available from two separate tanks and a septic system services the sanitation needs. The family trust owners built the approximately 6,000 sq.ft. barn originally raising cattle, horses and mules on the property. The barn has lofts on both sides, an arena and the associated corrals.
