Things to do on the East Coast of Ireland When travelling on the East coast of Ireland, Glendalough is definitely worth visiting but there are plenty of other things to do in the Wicklow Mountains National Park, in Bray and of course, in Dublin. Information on the next page D. Ten things to do in Dublin Watch the video and take down notes about the most interesting places in the Irish Capital https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jucnh8u4g1i Do you know where are the Wicklow Mountains? Show them on the map!

The Wicklow Way is a 131-kilometre long-distance trail that crosses the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. It runs from Marlay Park in the southern suburbs of Dublin through County Wicklow and ends in the village of Clonegal in County Carlow. It is designated as a National Waymarked Trail by the Irish Sports Council and is waymarked by posts with a yellow "walking man" symbol and a directional arrow. Typically completed in 5 7 days, it is one of the busiest of Ireland's National Waymarked Trails, with up to 24,000 people a year walking the most popular sections. The Wicklow Way is also used regularly by a number of mountain running competitions. And don t forget : Good strong waterproof hiking boots. Waterproof boots are essential for keeping your feet dry. Your boots should be high over your ankles for extra support. They should also have good grip: walking downhill in Ireland often entails treading on stony paths and good soles on your boots will stop you slipping. Waterproof Jacket Ireland has a reputation for being wet and rainy. Don't believe all you hear! Most people who visit Ireland to hike find actually that it doesn't rain as much as they anticipated. However, be prepared: intermittent showers are often the order of the day. So a good light waterproof jacket is essential for summer hikes. Gloves and Hat Yes, even in summer you will definitely need a hat and gloves. Just as the rain can appear intermittently, you will find the odd cold spell. Obviously as you climb higher, the more the temperature will drop. A common problem is sitting for a while to enjoy a packed lunch and your body temperature dropping enough to make you feel chilled. Out should come the gloves and hat!
