APRIL/MAY 2012 G day Queensland Scout Drivers, A group of us went out to Manar Park for a long weekend of camping and 4wding. And I have to say we found some really great tracks with quite a few tricky sections that were a little testing and a couple of tracks that you would need an extreme 4WD to tackle. With rocky out crops and very steep climbs, it was even enough to stop Graham s truck with the super low diffs and lockers and 33s. We found a nice little canyon that took about an hour and a half to move 4 trucks about 40 meters and took every piece of recovery equipment we had. In my opinion it was some of the best fun I ve had for a while. On the 4wd front I have been told that there are more changes coming to our suspension laws that will actually be more user-friendly in Queensland. I should have some details for our June meeting. It is that time of the year again; renewals will be getting posted out to all members. I have heard that some of our past members have said they didn t receive a renewal so we will be posting out to all members from the last two years. In this age of technology you should be able to access the website and download a renewal off the site. But just to make sure that everyone has access to these forms, they will be sent out and we would ask that they be returned by the end of July as the AGM is in August. Also, if you would like to be part of the committee you can nominate yourself for any of the positions all you have to do is turn up for the meeting. Well that will do for now so hopefully I will see you on one of our trips. We have tried to spread out the trips around the countryside in the hope of getting our members to join us. Remember this is your club, not just ours. Till next time, Steve Clough. (Club President)
