Forêt de Fontainebleau 2-3 days (we recommend 2 days) Meet with our staff at Paris airport and go directly to the first Base Camp in the Fontainebleau Forest. As an appetizer, you will experience adventure days with clues, riddles, signposts, orientation, climbing, abseiling Lots of fun for this first glimpse! Famous for its chaotic rocky sandstone and sandy deserts (the remains of a very ancient sea), the forest of Fontainebleau offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes. It is specially known worldwide for bouldering: climbing on small rocks that does not require ropes. Despite the low-rise blocks, it is one of the finest climbing areas in France. You ll be amazed by some of the world-famous rocks that offer remarkable similarities to animals like dogs, turtles, elephants and even a dinosaur Cultural part: visit of Fontainebleau Castle (see picture on page 1) Top placed in the history of France for more than eight centuries, the Chateau de Fontainebleau was one of the favorite residences of French kings from François I to Napoleon III. Surrounded by a large and beautiful park à la française, located nearby the Fontainebleau forest, the castle offers the visitor a wealth of architecture, decorations, paintings and many fascinating and precious objects. Vézelay 1 Day on the way to the Ardèche A perfect introduction to a typical ancient village in the centre of France, known worldwide for its outstanding Roman Basilica, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy an afternoon wandering in these ageless streets and have a drink to savour this amazingly cute village.
Gorges de l Ardèche 4-5 days (we recommend 4 days) A great mix of climbing, impressive abseiling, via ferrata and canoeing/kayaking in the Chassezac or Ardèche rivers. After work, you can enjoy and relax in the fabulous natural hot tubes of these beautiful rivers. The Gorge d Ardèche (Canyon of Ardeche) is one of the most remarkable natural sites of France, combining monumental landscapes and limestone cliffs up to 300m high, covered with scrubland and oak forests which represent a high geological heritage. The river Ardèche is well known for its spectacular and beautiful kayaking with the famous 60m stone arch spanning the river, known as Pont d'arc (arch bridge). The Chassezac River, a tributary of the Ardèche, snakes its way through a wide valley before diving into magnificent 400m deep granitic canyons. Several climbing sites can be found in the narrowest part of these canyons. This spectacular place is renowned for canyoning but it is also an ideal river for relaxing and swimming. Orgnac caves The most magnificent caves of the Ardèche! This place is also among the largest caves in the world, a place of discovery and conservation of the underground environment. A world where multitudes of crystallizations combine the delicate with the gigantic and tell a story that began 110 million years ago.
Avignon 1-2 days (we recommend 1 day) The European city of culture! Inhabited since the prehistory, Avignon was always a home of culture and a crossroad of civilizations. Listed by the UNESCO, this city can be read as a travel through history in every street and on every corner. Culture remains dynamic and forwardlooking, featuring the international theatre festival each summer. Massif des Calanques 2-3 days (we recommend 2 days) Where the cliffs meet with the sea, you will certainly enjoy hiking, and swimming in the crystal blue sea! Some beautiful via Ferrata (an iron ladder along the rockface allowing for a safe but adrenaline-rushed walk) await you! The lovely small city of Cassis is perfect for a scenic rest. With its unique landscape, the Calanques massif invites you to discover multiple landscapes of cliffs and steep rocky scrubland, the shade of the pines and trails on the side, fishing ports... and all this with the azure blue sea background: simply beautiful! Considered a mediterranean fjord, the calanques massif, which extends over 20 km long near Marseille, offers spectacular panoramas, a great number of hikes and marvellous training spots for rock-climbers.
Chamonix Mont-Blanc 3-6 Days (we recommend 3 days) Get wonderful views of the whole Mont-Blanc range from the Lac Blanc (5h hike) where you are likely to face with wild Ibex. You ll have to choose between many more spectacular hikes, climbs or via ferrata with magnificent views of glaciers and peaks! At the end of the day, you will fully appreciate a drink in the lively streets of Chamonix. The scenic city of Chamonix is nestled among some of the highest mountain peaks in the Alps, including the famous Mont Blanc (4,810 m) the highest mountain of Europe. You will discover the largest glacier of the French Alps la Mer de Glace, 7km in length, 1200 meters wide and 200 meters deep! Depending on weather, take the stunning cable car up to 3842m to the Aiguille du Midi or choose the oldfashioned train Montenvers past the glaciers.
