EC New York: 92Y Residence The 92nd Street Y Residence is a world renowned community center located on the Upper East Side in one of Manhattan s best neighborhoods just three blocks from Central Park, Museum Mile and numerous other treasures. LOCAL AREA Students can easily explore New York s renowned museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim, spend time in Central Park, enjoy nearby cafés and restaurants and venture into other intriguing neighborhoods using subway and bus lines, conveniently located within walking distance from the residence. Students staying at the residence will find themselves within easy reach of local restaurants, banks, pharmacies and grocery stores. There is a supermarket across the street from the Y, as well as quite a few others in the neighborhood. The Upper East Side is known for its variety of restaurants and fastfood eateries and many of them will deliver to the Residence. DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION The 92nd Street Y Residence offers furnished single or twin rooms and communal bathroom facilities with the following ratios - 1 shower per 7 students and 1 toilet per 11 students. Communal kitchen facilities are available at the 92Y residence (kitchen supplies are not provided and can be purchased inexpensively nearby). Some kitchen supplies may be available at the school for a small deposit. Supplies include sauté pans, pots, can openers, spatulas, wooden spoons, & mesh strainers. It is the students responsibility to purchase cups, plates, forks, knives, and spoons. In order to be refunded the deposit, any supplies lent out must be returned clean and in the same condition that the student received it. The 92Y also offers EC NY students free access to their amazing gym/fitness center. Students can make use of the 25-yard lap pool, 5,000 square foot cardio area, 100 weekly fitness classes, plus expert wellness and personal training. After you collect your baggage from Baggage Claim and/or pass through Customs, go to the arrival waiting gallery. This is the last area BEFORE the exit of the airport building where passengers meet the people who come to pick them up. Your driver will be waiting for you INSIDE the arrival waiting gallery. Look for someone holding up a sign with your name on it and the EC Logo. If you are arriving at JFK airport, please make sure to look out for the EC driver as you exit customs/immigration and then once you receive your luggage. Drivers, private cars and taxis normally wait around the EXIT. You should keep their eyes open and look out for an EC NY sign with your name displayed on it. If your first flight into the U.S. is delayed or your flight number is changed, you must call: +1 347 567 3543. If you arrive at the airport and you cannot find your driver, you should also call the number above. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you must call to reschedule at least two hours before your originally scheduled pick-up time. Otherwise, you will have to pay for a second transfer or take a taxi. You should not get into a car with anyone who does not have this EC sign. ARRIVAL PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS When you arrive at 92Y, please tell the guards that you are checking-in to the 92Y de Hirsch Residence on the 8th floor. They will point you to the elevators straight ahead. You will then have to do some paperwork before you receive your key. The residence office is not open 24 hours a day, however if you arrive outside office hours the keys will be left at the security desk for you to pick up upon arrival. ACCOMMODATION ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAY Arrival day: Sunday Departure day: Saturday and/or Sunday Check-in: 14:00 Check-out: 12:00 (Sat) / 10:00 (Sun) JOURNEY TO SCHOOL The school is on average 25 minutes away by subway. Walk five blocks South to the 86th Street Subway Station, going Downtown. From the 86th Street Subway Station, take the 4, 5 or 6 train to 59th St./Lexington Ave. Stay inside the station, and follow the signs to the N R Q trains. Take the N, R or Q train to Times Square - 42nd St. Exit the station on either 40th and Broadway or 42nd and Broadway and walk 1 block to 41st and Broadway. EC New York is located at 1450 Broadway, 14th Floor. Students can purchase a weekly ($30) or monthly ($112) Unlimited Ride MetroCard from Subway Station Booths or Metro Card Vending Machines (prices may vary). 2

IF YOU DID NOT REQUEST AN AIRPORT PICK-UP, YOU HAVE SEVERAL WAYS TO GET TO YOUR RESIDENCE Taxi Go to the taxi stand outside, and tell the driver that you are going to 92nd and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan (The address is: 1395 Lexington Avenue) JFK AirTrain/Public Transport: 1. Take the Jamaica Station/Sutphin Line to Jamaica Station/Sutphin 2. Transfer to the E train headed toward Manhattan and get off at Lexington Ave/53rd Street station. 3. Transfer to the Uptown 6 train. 4. Take the 6 train to 86th St. 5. Exit the station and walk 5 blocks north on Lexington to 91st Street. 6. 92Y will be on your right at 1395 Lexington. Express Bus: 1. Take the New York Airport Service express bus from JFK Airport to Grand Central. 2. Take the 6 train headed Uptown to 86th St. 3. Exit the station and walk 5 blocks north on Lexington to 91st Street. 4. 92Y will be on your right at 1395 Lexington. Newark AirTrain/Public Transport: 1. Take the Air Train from Newark heading to Newark Airport Station. 2. Transfer to New Jersey Transit - Northeast Corridor Line heading to New York City/Penn Station. 3. Get off at New York/Penn Station (last stop). 4. Transfer to the E train headed toward Jamaica and get off at Lexington Ave/53rd Street station. 5. Transfer to the Uptown 6 train. 6. Take the 6 train to 86th St. 7. Exit the station at 86th street and walk 5 blocks north on Lexington to 91st Street. 8. 92Y will be on your right at 1395 Lexington. LaGuardia Public Transport: 1. Take the M60 Bus from LaGuardia Airport Station heading to Morningside Heights, Manhattan. 2. Get off at East 125th street and Lexington Avenue (approx. 30min). 3. Enter the subway station and take the 6 train heading Downtown/Brooklyn Bridge. 4. Get off at 96th street. Exit the station and walk 4 blocks south on Lexington Avenue to 92nd St. 5. 92Y will be on your left at 1395 Lexington. 3

NOTES Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere in the building Students should bring their own towels Living in a student residence is ideal for students aged between 18 27 years. We strongly recommend anyone over the age of 28 years to book alternative accommodation. Student age restrictions: students must be 18 years of age to book twin or single students booking a twin room maximum 28 years (if you are coming alone) Kitchen supplies are not provided and can be purchased inexpensively nearby. EC New York: 1760 Summer Residence DESCRIPTION OF LOCAL AREA 1760 3rd Avenue Residence is a 18-story high-rise,newly renovated residence located on Manhattan s Upper East Side. The residence is set just minutes away from the amazing Museum Mile, Central Park, Carl Shultz Park, and two blocks from the 96th St / Lexington Avenue subway station. Students staying in this area can savor the extraordinary affordable restaurants, retail stores, markets and cultural happenings all around. DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION The residence offers fully furnished ensuite rooms. All rooms include air conditioning/heating, a refrigerator, microwave, private bathroom, cable TV, LCD TV, Wi-Fi access, and high-speed internet service in rooms for students who have their laptops. Linen will be provided but students should bring their own towels. Common areas are cleaned by 1760 3rd Avenue staff, however, students are responsible for cleaning their own bedrooms and bathrooms. AIRPORT PICK-UP If you requested airport pick up, you will see drivers waiting with a sign just outside immigration. Look for a driver holding an EC sign with your first and last name. If you are arriving on an international flight, the driver will be outside immigration and customs. If you are arriving on a domestic flight, the driver will meet you in baggage claim. If you do not see your driver, call +1 347 567 3543. JOURNEY TO SCHOOL The easiest way to get to school is by subway. The residence is a 30 minute subway commute from the school. Students can purchase a weekly ($30) or monthly ( 112) Unlimited Ride MetroCard from Subway Station Booths or Metro Card Vending Machines (prices may vary). EC New York (Times Square Center). EC New York: New Yorker The New Yorker Residence is located in the famous Herald Square area, within walking distance of Times Square, Broadway and Off- Broadway Theatres, Madison Square Garden, and the Empire State Building. DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION The New Yorker Residence offers fully-furnished single or twin en-suite rooms with a TV, high-speed internet and refrigerator. These fully-furnished rooms are a great choice for busy students on the go. The residence features lounges, a laundry room and a gym facility. Linen will be provided but students should bring their own towels. Students are responsible for maintaining their own rooms,cleaning products can be purchased inexpensively nearby. The building staff cleans the common areas (hallways, lounges, kitchens) daily. The security guard should then direct you to the student housing office on the 15th floor or give you a temporary key. 2

EC New York: St. George Residence DESCRIPTION OF LOCAL AREA The St. George Residence is located in the heart of scenic Brooklyn Heights. The St. George Residence is on the site of what was once the famed St. George Hotel a hot spot that drew celebrities, athletes, and presidential candidates. The residence boasts a newly renovated student community center with a screening room, bistro kitchen, study rooms, and much more. DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION The St. George Residence offers fully-furnished twin en-suite rooms with a TV, highspeed internet, microwave, and refrigerator. These fully-furnished rooms are a great choice for busy students on the go. The residence features lounges, a laundry room and a gym facility. JOURNEY TO SCHOOL The easiest way to get to school is to take the 2 or 3 Uptown train. The residence is 7 subway stops from the school. Students can purchase a weekly ($30) or monthly ($112)Unlimited Ride MetroCard from Subway Station Booths or Metro Card Vending Machines (prices may vary). ARRIVAL PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS When you arrive at the St. George Residence, please give your first and last name and tell the security guard that you are checking in with EHS. The security guard will check you in and provide your key card into your room. AIRPORT PICK-UP If you have booked an airport transfer, you will be met at one of the three major local airports (JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark) by a representative from our airport pick-up services. After you collect your baggage from Baggage Claim and/or pass through Customs, go to the arrival waiting gallery. This is the last area BEFORE the exit of the airport building where passengers meet the people who come to pick them up. Your driver will be waiting for you INSIDE the arrival waiting gallery. Look for someone holding up a sign with your name on it and the EC Logo. If you are arriving at JFK airport, please make sure to look out for the EC driver as you exit customs/immigration and then once you receive your luggage. Drivers, private cars and taxis normally wait around the EXIT. You should keep their eyes open and look out for an EC NY sign with your name displayed on it. If your first flight into the U.S. is delayed or your flight number is changed, you must call: +1 347 567 3543 If you arrive at the airport and you cannot find your driver, you should also call the number above. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you must call to reschedule at least two hours before your originally scheduled pick-up time. Otherwise, you will have to pay for a second transfer or take a taxi. IF YOU DID NOT REQUEST AN AIRPORT PICK-UP, YOU HAVE SEVERAL WAYS TO GET TO YOUR RESIDENCE Taxi: Go to the taxi stand outside, and tell the driver that you are going 55 Clark Street (between Henry Street and Hicks Street) in Brooklyn. AirTrain: 1. Take the Jamaica Station/Sutphin Line to Jamaica Station/Sutphin 2. Transfer to the E train headed toward Manhattan and get off at Penn Station/34th St. 3. From 34th Street, you will need to take the 2 or 3 Downtown train to the Clark Street Stop. Express Bus: 1. Take the Express bus from JFK Airport to Penn Station. 2. From 34th Street, you will need to take the 2 or 3 Downtown train to the Clark Street Stop. NOTES A damage deposit of $150 will be collected on your first day at school. This will be returned during check out. No smoking is permitted in the residence - designated smoking outside. No alcohol permitted in the building, regardless of age Unlimited free local phone service available for all students Minimum age accepted at the residence - 17 years with written permission from parent Living in a student residence is ideal for students aged between 18 27 years. We strongly recommend anyone over the age of 28 years to book alternative accommodation. Kitchen supplies are not provided and can be purchased inexpensively nearby. Some kitchen supplies may be available at the school for a small deposit. Supplies include sauté pans, pots, can openers, spatulas, wooden spoons, & mesh strainers. It is the students responsibility to purchase cups, plates, forks, knives, and spoons. In order to be refunded the deposit, any supplies lent out must be returned clean and in the same condition that the student received it. You should not get into a car with anyone who does not have this EC sign. 2
