In the VI century, the oldest cathedral in Tbilisi - Anchiskhati was built, while the Jvarismama church was built in the 16th century. Another cathedral - Zemo Betlemi - was constructed in the 18th century, as were several other buildings in the historical center of the city. The Holy Trinity Cathedral, built in our times, is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world. We will begin our tour to Tbilisi by visiting the Holy Trinity Cathedral, then we will walk along the old town, see the Metekhi temple built in the 13th century and located on the cliff. After enjoying the view, continue along the cable car and climb the Narikala fortress, which was founded in the 4th century AD, offering a panoramic view of Tbilisi and the Botanical Garden. From Narikala fortress we will walk down to the mosque and open the oldest part of the city with interesting houses with open carved balconies. We will continue our trip by visiting the district of the sulfur baths of Abanotubani and Legkhvtahievi, listening to the legends, about how Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century.
The second day - Tbilisi. We will climb the Turtle Lake and visit the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, located in the Vake district in the central part of the city. On the territory of the museum there are more than a hundred exhibits from all regions of Georgia: authentic houses, outbuildings, utensils, barns, water mills, wine cellars, forges, cowsheds, etc. Officially, the ethnographic museum was opened in the 1960s. Visiting the museum, you can reach the Turtle Lake - a favorite place for resting for the Tbilisi residents. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Directly from the lake, the cable car trains, will bring you down in 6 minutes. Further we will rise on Funicular on the Mountain Mtatsminda, height - 770 meters above sea level. Mtatsminda is one of the most beautiful natural, historical and cultural places of the city. It is covered with coniferous forests and looks proudly at the capital.
