Issue 55 April 2018 Palmers Green Palmers Green Safer Neighbourhood News Burglary in total has increased in March. Attempted burglary is the increase. Please make sure you are double locking your front doors whether they are either wood or UPVC as the majority of the attempts have been at the front door. We seem to have attracted the overnight burglars who are entering to grab car keys for new or last year s number plated Mercedes, BMW or Audi cars. So if you are the owner of such a car please take time to make sure all the family are double locking the front door and make sure your alarm if fitted is activated. If you don t have an alarm or CCTV if maybe wise to look into having them fitted to assist in protecting you and your property. Motor Vehicle crime has again stayed high. If you use a key fob to lock your car please check it has locked before you have walked away by pulling the door handle. If you have a keyless car which locks automatically please check it has locked itself as you walk away just turn around to see if the hazards have flashed and the mirrors have pulled in. We are finding victims are still leaving valuables in their cars overnight so please try to remove sat navs, ipads, laptops and mobile phones. Enfield Borough

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOUBLE LOCKING A UPVC (THREE OR FIVE POINT LOCKING SYSTEM) DOOR. A number of burglaries could have been prevented this month if residents had double locked their doors. If a UPVC door is not locked with a key the door is left very weakly secure with a very small piece of metal keeping it secure.
