A 16-yearold was fatally shot in the Fort Dupont neighborhood at about 7:40 PM, and the second victim was killed in the Congress Heights neighborhood at about 8:30 PM. The two incidents are not believed to be related and no other information is available at this time. So far this year there have been 25 homicides and 47 instances of sexual abuse reported in the District. There were 7 instances of sexual abuse and 21 armed robberies with a gun reported this past week in DC. Assaults with a gun have increased by 21% compared to this time last year.
