DECEMBER 15, 2018 We hope you don t have to cancel, but if you do, unless you are enrolled in CAP (Camper Assurance Program), December 15th is the last day to cancel without losing your deposit. MARCH 2019: Medical Mailing & Camper Prep Packet You will receive the Medical Mailing which includes a Health History and Examination Form for your camper and information on our medication policies at camp. You will also receive the Camper Prep Packet which includes information on accessing online forms, tuition statements, activity selection forms and our parent handbook which contains a lot of important information for parents. This is also when your son will select the activities he thinks he would like to take at camp and make requests for cabin mates, if he has any. APRIL 30, 2019: All Forms (except the Health History Form) and Final Tuition Payment Due - All forms (except the Health History Form) are due. - Final Tuition payment is due no later than April 30th. You will receive an email with information on paying your bill online through CampInTouch. MAY 1, 2019: Camp Clothing Order Order all logo d camp clothing from www.thecampspot.com *The only required clothing are 2 official camp t-shirts. Staff News - GreenWoodS Camp We would like to announce a few amazing staff members that will be returning this summer. DANIEL LEBOVITZ, 22, will be back at camp for his 14th summer at camp, 5th year on staff and 2nd summer as the Greenwoods Program Coordinator! Having grown up at camp he is excited to share his enthusiasm and love for camp with campers this summer. Originally from Illinois, he attends University of Nebraska-Lincoln where is he studying pre-medical biological sciences. We are excited to have THOMAS TOM FRANKLIN, 22, back for his second summer at camp. Tom will be back at the climbing wall this summer. He is from the UK, he is involved in teaching canoeing and kayaking back home. He has also assisted a PE teacher back home with classes. We are excited to welcome back JACK O GORMAN, 23, all the way from Australia, to his second summer at camp. Jack will be teaching waterski on the waterfront. Back home Jack spends most of his time outdoors. He enjoys playing basketball, football and anything to do with water-sports. Get ready for a screen-free summer! ELECTRONICS POLICY AT CAMP At Greenwoods, we think it is important for our campers to unplug and let themselves be present and engaged in their camp experience. Our screen-free policy ensures that our campers get a much-needed break from the digital world. Please reinforce the following rules with your child before camp begins. Absolutely NO CELL PHONES are permitted at camp NO Kindles or other E-readers NO electronic device capable of internet access NO walkie-talkies NO ipads, ipod Touches, tablets or laptops NO Apple Watches / Smart Watches NO PSPs, Nintendo Switches, Gameboys or other electronic video game systems NO scooters, Hoverboards, etc. Music is an important part of our camp culture. Campers are allowed to bring a basic MP3 player with NO video or game capabilities and NO wifi capabilities. Again, this means that itouches or iphones (even without a calling plan or SIM card) will NOT be allowed at camp. Any of these prohibited items will be confiscated. Campers may bring an ipod nano or shuffle as long as it does not have games or wifi capabilities. Please keep in mind that camp is not responsible for items that may be lost or damaged. Fitbit and personal fitness tracking devices are permitted as long as they are not capable of internet access. PACKAGE POLICY Packages can create an unhealthy competition among campers and parents. In an effort to promote a non-materialistic camp environment and in fairness to all campers and parents, our camp has implemented a NO package policy. This policy extends to all parents, relative and friends. In order to ensure fairness, this policy will be strictly enforced. - Any package received will be returned to sender. - You MAY send flat envelopes up to 9x12 in size. If you can bend it, you can send it. Please inform family and friends and remind them not to send food, candy or gum in letters. If your child forgets to pack an essential item, please contact us at the camp office and we will arrange for your child to receive these items. BIRTHDAY PACKAGES: If your child has a birthday while at camp, they are allowed to receive ONE birthday package. Please DO NOT send food.
