QUALITY IS NO ACCIDENT Diagonal reinforcement the basis for REHAU garden hoses Diagonal reinforcement technology: For REHAU's diagonal reinforcement used, two textile reinforcing layers running counter to one another are applied to the inner hose layer at the correct thread angle of 54 (neutral angle) in order to achieve an equilibrium of forces. The spacing of the individual reinforced fibres and their strength have a significant impact upon the pressure resistance. The diagonal reinforcement is a guarantee for high burst pressure ratings and the main reason why this reinforcement variant is used mainly for technical hoses. Unlike diagonal reinforcement, with mesh reinforcement the inner layer is lined with mesh lines and rows, which do not balance out the various forces. This causes the hose geometry to become unstable as more pressure is applied, and the hose diameter increases, twists along its axis and becomes distorted.
