Helsinki VISIT TO THE REINDEER PARK AND TOUR OF HELSINKI Let us immerse ourselves in unspoilt nature as we meet cute reindeer in a park dedicated entirely to them and admire the most significant monuments in Helsinki on a pleasant sightseeing tour of the city. Nuuksio national park Nuuksio reindeer park Tour of the park and snack in a kota Sightseeing tour of Helsinki Mannerheimintie and Finlandia Hall Lutheran cathedral Uspenski Orthodox cathedral and Kauppatori 0 We get on a coach and leave the capital of Finland headed towards the picturesque Nuuksio national park, where we are surrounded by unspoilt nature and admire the most beautiful Finnish landscapes characterised by lakes, woods and cliffs. Our destination inside this vast reserve is the Nuuksio reindeer park, the southernmost place in Finland where reindeer can be found. Together with our guide, we discover the fascinating world of this animal, feed the reindeer and take a lot of pictures with them. We are served a snack and a cup of coffee near the fire in a traditional Lapland kota, a hut rustically furnished with wooden chairs and tables and reindeer hides. After our visit, we make our way back and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Helsinki, capital and largest city in Finland. We drive along Mannerheimintie, one of the main roads, and admire the Parliament building, setting of many crucial events of the country s political life, ad the national museum. The modern Finlandia Hall - an important congress centre designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto - appears before our eyes together with the new opera palace. We cross the Senate Square overlooked by the superb Lutheran cathedral, an imposing Neoclassical cathedral completely finished in white marble. We also admire the Orthodox cathedral of Uspenski with its gilded domes and characteristic brick structure. As we head back to the port, we admire the colourful Kauppatori or market square, overlooking Helsinki port with its myriad of stalls selling typical products. PAGE 4

We stop at lake Haukkalampi, located at the centre of the park and an excellent starting point for our activities. We start with a trek surrounded by nature and the peaceful woods appease both our minds and souls. Our experience turns more adventurous with a canoe ride along the rugged banks of the lake. Halfway during our ride, we stop to climb a hill offering enchanting views and then get back on our canoes to go back to the starting point. But there s more: a thrilling fatbike ride awaits us. Fatbikes are a direct evolution of mountain bikes and are equipped with large wheels perfect to tackle uneven ground. We tour the park heights as we explore nature. After our own personal triathlon, we have some free time available inside the park to enjoy this natural marvel as we please or PAGE 5

Sightseeing tour of Helsinki Lutheran cathedral Esplanadi and shipyards Mannerheimintie and Finlandia Hall Helsinki aquarium Ocean tunnel and Discovery Pool We start our excursion with a sightseeing tour of Helsinki, a city that lives in perfect harmony with nature and yet has a lively cultural scene. PAGE 6

0 We cross the Senate Square overlooked by the superb Lutheran cathedral, an imposing Neoclassical cathedral completely finished in white marble. We proceed along the Esplanadi, two streets in the centre of Helsinki and a true temple of shopping where many embassies are also located. We then reach the shipyard area, a key economic activity for the country. We drive along Mannerheimintie, one of the main roads, and admire the Parliament building, setting of many crucial events of the country s political life, the national museum and the modern Finlandia Hall designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. We finally reach the Sea Life Helsinki aquarium, where we remain speechless in front of the beautiful variety of sea creatures populating the underwater world. We walk along the Ocean Tunnel below the main tank filled with sharks, rays and a myriad of colourful fish. We then visit the Discovery Pool, where we can admire up close and even touch fascinating creatures such as starfish and learn interesting information about live at the bottom of the sea. We cannot miss to meet the largest guest in the aquarium: Mussukka, the zebra shark who swims majestically in one of the large tanks. An unforgettable experience! At the end of the visit, we board our coach to return to the ship. 02E4 3 1/2 Hours approximately Easy EUR 65.00 EUR 45.50 Recommended to families Helsinki YLLÄS HALLI ARCTIC CENTRE: A TASTE OF LAPLAND IN HELSINKI An unusual excursion in sub-zero temperatures: enjoy fun typically Nordic sporting activities before returning to Helsinki to admire and visit some of the Finnish capital's most interesting sights. Ylläs Halli Arctic Centre, fun typically Nordic sporting activities Helsinki: Senate Square, Market Square, city centre Sibelius Park and Monument PAGE 7

After leaving the port of Helsinki we will cross the city by coach to the Ylläs Halli Arctic Centre, a sports centre dedicated to Nordic winter sports where fun and excitement are guaranteed. The temperature at the sports centre is constantly kept below zero to guarantee the fun typically Nordic sporting activities: from cross-country skiing, king of all Nordic skiing, to curling, from sledge tracks to ice skating or snowtubing. It is no coincidence that the centre takes its name from Ylläs, a well-known tourist town in Finnish Lapland. At the entrance to the centre we will be provided with thermal clothing and boots that will allows us to stay as comfortable as possible while taking advantage of the attractions. After an enjoyable stop for a drink in the centre's Ice Bar, we will return by coach to Helsinki, admiring some of the main monuments and sites of interest en route. Once in the centre, we will make a photo stop before visiting Senate Square and Market Square. We will be able to take advantage of some free time to explore the city centre, before setting off once again for Sibelius Park, where we will get a close-up view of the monument dedicated to the famous Finnish composer and violinist. After completing this final stage of our tour, we will return to the ship. The itinerary may be subject to change. We recommend wearing suitable clothing. Places on this excursion are limited. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. This excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility problems. There is limited availability of Italian speaking guides; if there are no Italian speaking guides available then the local guide's commentary will be translated into Italian by a local translator. 2549 4 Hours approximately Moderate EUR 90.00 EUR 63.00 Fun Recommended to families Helsinki HELSINKI EXPRESS: A DAY AMONG THE CITY'S MONUMENTS AND STALLS Panoramic tour of the city, with its monuments and markets. Immerse yourself in Helsinki's culture and lifestyle! PAGE 8

Senate Square, Lutheran Cathedral, City Museum Sibelius Park, Passio Musicae Market Square, shopping and tastings We will set off from the port by coach for a panoramic tour of Helsinki. With our cameras at the ready, we will pass Senate Square, home to the city's principal monuments, including the White Cathedral and the city museum. In the centre of the square stands the Statue of Alexander II, a monument that commemorates the relationship between Finland and Imperial Russia. We will make a stop at the park dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius to look at the controversial Passio Musicae monument, an abstract structure made of 600 empty steel tubes that resemble organ pipes. The meaning behind this monument is still very much up for discussion among the Finns: there are those who say that the sculptor Eila Hiltunen intended to recall the Northern Lights; others think it looks like ice crystals, some think it is a giant organ, while others find references to Nordic forests in it. It appears that the artist had no particular intention in mind, and, while commemorating the life and works of Sibelius, she also wanted visitors to be able to bring their own meaning to the work. Finally, we will continue to Market Square, where we can soak up the bright colours and irresistible aromas emanating from the stalls. We will take our time to enjoy some shopping. We recommend you bring your camera. 2550 2 Hours approximately EUR 29.00 EUR 20.30 Helsinki THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF PORVOO Providing a real historical flavour, this excursion allows us to compare the past and present of a fascinating city. Helsinki, city tour of the most well-known monuments Porvoo, historic quarter and commercial warehouses PAGE 9

After setting off from Helsinki port, we will pass a series of monuments of national historical interest: the Parliament, the National Museum, the new Opera House, the Olympic Stadium, built in 1952, and Finlandia Hall, a unique conference and events centre designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto, who was also responsible for the church in Riola di Vergato (Bologna) in the 1970s We will admire the beautiful Finnish countryside en route to the ancient town of Porvoo, following a panoramic road along the coast. Porvoo is the second oldest town in Finland and is a gem of Finnish architectural history, particularly in the residential area of Old Porvoo, a picturesque neighbourhood built on a hill near the Porvoonjoki River. The houses were built in keeping with medieval ideas about urban planning and represent the harmonious coexistence of old and new. Porvoo's symbol is its charming red houses built on the river bank; they were once warehouses where goods, products and exotic delicacies from distant lands were kept. We will take a stroll through the historic centre, full of shops selling local delicacies and handicrafts. For example, the depots near the former station are home to a shop that is impossible to leave empty handed: gifts, souvenirs, local handicrafts, organic food and cakes, all top-quality, so much so that it is considered by many to be a tourist attraction in its own right! We will set off once again for Helsinki, passing through the beautiful countryside. The itinerary may be subject to change for technical and operational reasons. The trip to Porvoo will be approximately 1 hour. 2552 4 Hours approximately Easy EUR 65.00 EUR 45.50 Sightseeing Cultural Recommended to families Helsinki HELSINKI CITY TOUR Discover the history and architecture of Helsinki on this unmissable city tour. Mannerheimintie and all the important buildings that line it: Parliament, National Museum, Finlandia Hall Sibelius Park, Passio Musicae Once we have left the port, we will head towards Senate Square and then on to Market Square and Kaivopuisto Park, the oldest and most famous park in Helsinki that is extremely popular with locals. Along the Mannerheimintie, we will visit the Lutheran church of Temppeliaukio, the Rock Church, a modern masterpiece built inside a rocky hill, an unmissable example of rock architecture. The Mannerheimintie is rightly considered Helsinki's main street. Staying on it throughout, we will be able to see: the Parliament, the scene of many crucial moments in the political life of the nation, the National Museum, Finlandia Hall, an important conference centre that plays host to all kinds of events and is well-known for its famous architect Alvar Aalto, and finally the new Opera House. Passing the Olympic Stadium, famous for hosting the 1952 Olympics, we will finally reach the controversial Passio Musicae, a monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and an abstract structure made of 600 empty steel tubes that resemble organ pipes. The meaning behind this monument is still very much up for discussion among the Finns: there are those who say that the sculptor Eila Hiltunen intended to recall the Northern Lights; others think it looks like ice crystals, some think it is a giant organ, while others find references to Nordic forests in it. Archipelago, Suomenlinna and North Harbour Market Square, free time for shopping and sampling gourmet treats After a short coach journey, we will set off by boat to discover the waters surrounding Helsinki. A local guide will accompany us on our tour, revealing stories and rumours relating to the monuments and sights we will see along the route. Illustrating the fascinating history of Helsinki, they will also explain the importance of the sea to its citizens. We will be able to admire the extraordinary urban archipelago; its stories, full of intrigue, began when the islands were used as lookout posts to warn inhabitants along the coast of possible foreign invasions during the Viking age. Today, a thousand years later, they are home to historic aristocratic residences, where Helsinki's wealthiest families spend their summers. We will also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the unique island within walking distance of Helsinki that is home to the huge Seurasaari open-air museum, where the traditional Finnish way of life is celebrated on a day-to-day basis. The houses, manor houses and outbuildings have been moved here from various parts of Finland. The island is currently home to 87 different buildings that offer a snapshot of rural life in Finland from the 18th century to the present day. We may spot a fire, in which case don't panic! We may be witnessing a typical Juhannuskokko, a bonfire lit by a newly married couple that always attracts a large audience. We will cross Suomenlinna, a naval fortress built on an archipelago of six islands, recognised by UNESCO as a unique example of European military architecture of its time. We will then come to the North Harbour, where a large fleet of icebreakers is docked. Our boat excursion will come to an end near Market Square, where we can soak up the bright colours and irresistible aromas emanating from the stalls. We will have time to sample Finnish berries or buy local handicrafts. Once we've eaten our fill, we will return to the ship by coach. The boat has seats inside and outside; in the event of inclement weather, you are advised to bring a raincoat and wear appropriate clothing. Places on this excursion are limited.
