I thank each and everyone that participated. Please introduce yourself to any of the 15 new members we have added this year, and let them know we can t wait to tour with them! My public service announcement for the month is... time to check radiators and antifreeze. It s getting colder and even if you re still planning on driving it s a good idea to make sure you re not going to freeze up once you put your car away for the winter. Many people drain their gas tanks and some use a gas stabilizer, which ever you choose it s time to think about this. Stay tuned for our November -December tour announcements! As of this Month we have 14 members that have earned Club Jackets. Please bring completed blackout cards to one of our next meetings so I can get the size of jacket you need. Thanks for being part of the BEST car club. Matt Hansen - 2 -

Minutes from the Last Club Meeting October 5, 2018 President Matt Hansen called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. Minutes: The minutes from the September meeting were accepted as printed in the Fender Chatter. Treasurere's Report: Betty reports that she has received applications from four new members: Kevin Sims (the new owner of Bob Brandvold s Little Eddie), Jim and Marie Lance, Kerry and Susie Tritt, and Gerry (Gary) Snow. It was also approved to pay for our website for 5 years. Sunshine: Susie Carnegie sent a card to Rick Slash Carnegie, who got wrapped up in a machine and had nine stitches put in his arm after driving himself to ER. Old Business: Matt thanked everyone who brought cars (all 35 of them!) to the Spokane County Fair, Jeff Hipp for making signs, and Jim Patterson and Russell Hanna for spearheading a very impressive display. We have been invited back next year. The Model T Club also won the contest for most entrants from a single club at the Cruise on Monroe, celebrating the opening of the redsigned Monroe Street corridor. We received a plaque and will have 50% of the proceeds available to donate to a charity of our choice. Suggestions for this donation can be made to the charity committee (Betty Patterson, Nan Robison, or Erik Hutchinson). Betty reported that in addition to the Monroe Street money, we wll be voting next month on contributions to charity for this year. She has received one suggestion to make a donation to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery. Anyone with additional requests should bring them to Betty, Nan, or Erik by the November meeting. Matt talked about other events that the club participated in since the last meeting. Nan, Karma, Matt, Maggie, and Jillian ran in the Valleyfest Parade, decorating their cars with light sticks donated by Multicare. There were five cars on display in front of the Fox Theater for the National Association of Women Business Owners Convention. Approximately 150 women turned it into a picture fest and seemed to have a great time. We received many thank yous. The March of Dimes auctioned off 8 spots to tour Green Bluff in a Model T. Thank you to everyone who came through with cars to make this possible. And our last tour was Montana s Salmon Feed Tour, which was attended by 12 Model T s and about 50 people. Although it was cold and windy, and there was a delay in getting the food ready due to keys not being in the right place (but we won t name names), the great scenery and food made it a wonderful fall tour! Mark Hutchinson announced that the 2019 calendars featuring Larry Skidmore s artwork have been ordered and should be available at the November meeting for $10 each. Gene Kicha attended the Northwest Vintage Speedsters September run in Wilsonville: up some hills, down some hills, beautiful scenery, fun time. New Business: Steve and Julie Heid are now the proud owners of Alan Heidenricht s 1926 Touring Car. Thank you to Jim for posting it on Facebook, and thank you to Tom Carnegie for eliminating a stinky leak so that the car is welcome in its new home. Matt also announced that the Hutton Settlement will celebrate their 100th anniversary next year, and is looking for a touring car and person to play Levi Hutton (Bill Barr comes to mind) for promotional materials. We will be invited to participate in their open house more details later. Betty has some new Vintage Ford magazines that can be loaned out to new members. When they are returned, they can go to our new library, which will now be hosted by Brooks and Pat Johnson. Thank you Brooks and Pat! Tours: Myron Richardson invited us to attend this year s Breakfast with Santa benefit on December 9, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hauser Lake Fire Department. Every year they raise money for a child who needs some help, and this year it will benefit (continued Pg 4) Monthly Meetings The monthly meeting begins at 7:30 PM on the 1st Friday of each month at the Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 North Pines, Spokane Valley, WA. The next regular club meeting is November 2. June 2018 Meeting - photo by Jeff Hipp You are welcome to join other T Club members for pre-meeting dinner 5:30-6:00 PM - this month at at Darcy s Restaurant at 10502 E Sprague Ave. (University & Sprague) in the Spokane Valley. We Hope to see you there! - 3 -

Janice and Nan announced that first meeting about the July 2019 Rotational Tour will be on Sunday, October 21st at 4 p.m. at the Hutchinsons house. More about this by e-mail and website. Misc: Betty reminded everyone to get their model Model T s ready to race at the banquet, and brought a couple of cars to raffle off at the meeting. Jim sent out the newletter with an update to the roster. If you didn t get these, contact Jim. In additional to our new members, there was a long-time member was at this meeting. Good to see you Ron Stose! Also Long-tme member Bob Brandvold moved into an assisted living facility several years ago and we lost contact with him until recently when Joanne Jepperson moved into the same facility--sullivan Park. Perhaps we could arrange a Model T tour to visit these two old friends? If you are looking to add to your collection, contact Matt who has information about a car for sale. Show & Tell: Julie Heid brought in some treasures found when they cleaned out their shop to make room for their new Model T. Officer Nominations: This was the month to nominate officers for next year, and although their was an attempt to railroad all four of our current officers into another year, Russell Hanna declined. The nominee for Vice President is Ralph Brevik. The official vote will be next month. Drawings/Prizes: Maggie Hansen won the 50/50 drawing and donated her winnings back to the scholarship fund. Matt Hansen and Cheri Storey won car banks to race at the banquet. Joe Swanson, Gene Kicha, Brooks Johnson, and Ron Stose won books brought in by Jim. Treats: Throughout the meeting we have been enticed by the sound of the ice cream maker working away in the back of the room. Matt brought in a box of Empire apples a cross between a MacIntosh and a Red Delicious. There are treats waiting... The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Janice Hutchinson, Secretary - 4 -
