The results, giving the first place to GfK Portugal, were based in the analysis and classification of the technical and economical proposals presented by the competitors, informed the CAEM in the document. The new system of measuring the television audience in Portugal will replace the existing one, which is in place since 1998. Beside GfK Portugal and Marktest, were also in the competition three other companies, TNS and Nielsen. The new audience measurement system should, according to CAEM, start running in experimental period in the second half of this current year and in parallel with the current system- in order to be able to get the full operational mode during the last quarter of 2011. The selected system should, according to the specifications of CAEM, correspond to the actual and future evolutions of the consumption in the field of television, and the technological characteristics of the distributions systems and equipment installed in the houses. CAEM is a tripartite entity constituted by associations representing advertisers, media agencies and media. In Mozambique, Intercampus of the GfK Group, is already measuring the Television, Radio and Newspapers audience since May 2010. Since that date it is possible to identify in Mozambique the daily evolutions and trends of the audiences in all provincial capitals. The Polana Serena Hotel Classic Rally & Tour - 22-25 April 2011 THE HISTORY BEHIND THE EVENT ln 1952, the Pretoria Motor Club (PMC) organised the Pretoria-LM rally as an experiment amidst much negative comments from others. The event was so successful that it became an annual institution. It gained National status in 1954. In 1957 TOTAL South Africa became the major sponsor of the event and in 1964, International status was granted to the, now, most prestigious event on the calendar, and became known as the TOTAL International Rally. Many new ideas were born through the years on this event such as, the diagrammatic route schedules we know today, organisers' clocks, different speed groups, private forest roads etc. The political instability in Mozambique resulted in the event running there for the last time in 1973, after which it continued running within the RSA borders until TOTAL withdrew their sponsorship after the 1977 event. TOTAL celebrated their 30 years involvement in motorsport in 1987, and the PMC organised a Commemorative rally as part of these celebrations. This sparked new enthusiasm into the idea to run events for people and cars that competed in the original LM rallies. Thanks to the assistance of Maizey Perspex, the first PTA-LM Classic Tour sprang to life in 1990, still ran within the RSA due to the political situation in Mozambique. In 1995, a small group of brave competitors entered the event that returned to the Mozambican Capital for the first time in 22 years, this time sponsored by the Polana Hotel with some assistance from Maizey Perspex as well. In 1996 TOTAL entered as a co-sponsor to assist competitors and officials to fit the fuel bill. 1997 was a year of celebrating with TOTAL's 40th year of involvement in motorsport as well as the celebration of the first LM Rally 45 years ago. In 1998 the event undoubtedly became the premier event on the classic calendar. Although the Polana Hotel was still the major sponsor, with TOTAL again contributing to competitor's fuel, this was also the first time that a tour was included thanks to the initiative of Speedy Fitment Centres. Fittingly this year also marked the first time, since the return, that competitors had the opportunity to actually compete on Mozambican soil, giving the local motor club (ATCM) the opportunity to receive some marshal training in the process. Due to the construction of the Maputo Corridor, the 1999 event followed a slightly different direction by covering some of the LM routes of yesteryear. The route passed through 4 Provinces (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Orange Free State and Kwazulu Natal) and traversed 3 countries (RSA, Swaziland and Mozambique). 2006, was the 12 th year that we returned to Maputo and was yet another new for competitors. Starting in Pretoria with an overnight stop in Swaziland, the event crossed the Mozambican border at Goba for the first time, giving us an interesting twisty run down the escarpment to Maputo. The third day took competitors North to the pretty little resort at Bilene where the competition officially ended. After a leisurely drive back to Maputo, the Prize-Giving function once again took place that evening at the fabulous Polana Serena Hotel. 2011, After an absence of 4 years the event bounces back with yet another new innovation. This time a 3- tier event which comprises of a normal SA Style regularity rally, A Historic Monte Carlo Style Rally and an Uruguay Style rally (Complete with Spanish Instructions!).
