The hot water will soften the hose and make it easier to slip in the fitting. Thank you very much to John and Sue Johnson for being our reporters for the month. The campout was held in conjunction with North Florida Lifetime Sams (NFLS), August 31st-September 3rd with the early bird being August 30, 2018. It was held at Ocala North RV Park in Riddick, FL. It was attended by Rich Gavin, John and Sue Johnson, Ken and Kath Cody, Bob and Sarah Edmondson, Jack and Pat Dean, Bruce and Janet Duvall, Ken and Sherrie Risberg with their daughter, Christine and Ray and Digna Rivera along with members from NFLS. Rich arrived early to make sure everything was ready for us to arrive. Rich, Bob and Ken C. helped John get his camper parked. While they were setting up Jack, Pat, Bruce, Janet, Ken and Sherrie arrived. That afternoon, we relaxed and enjoyed each other s company. Then the rains came. We had supper on our own and later gathered at the building to play Sevens. While we were playing, Ray and Digna arrived. Rich helped them get parked in the dark. We got more rain overnight. Friday morning many of us had water logged property. Sue went to swim laps in the pool. Bob and Sarah changed sites. Ken and Kath went to breakfast at the Iron Skillet. We hung out, walked dogs, and had a wonderfully nice day. That afternoon some of us gathered at the building. Sequence, Joker and Texas Canasta were all played. Soon it was time to gather for the potluck. There was all kinds of food and everyone enjoyed. After eating, we played Card Bingo and had lots of different winners. Saturday morning we had a potluck for breakfast that included biscuits and gravy, grits, breakfast casserole, cinnamon rolls, potatoes, English muffins and more. North Florida Lifetime Sams had their meeting. That afternoon we gathered at the building. Sequence, Texas Canasta and Dominos were played. Rich got the grill ready to use. John, Sharon Bundy (NFLS), Kath, and Bob helped Sue make blankets to take to the VA hospital. Saturday night we had a barbeque and everyone cooked their own meat and brought something to share. NFLS had a 50/50 drawing and Ken C. won $25. We played Nickel, Nickel. Ray and Digna threw many sevens because of bad luck, but by the end of the game, they won twice. We had a great time and played until about 9pm. Sunday morning was another potluck breakfast and everything was delicious. We cleaned the clubhouse for the 90+ birthday party coming in behind us. John and Sue decided to go to see Williston Crossing RV Resort but could not get in because the office was closed. While trying to get gas, John and Sue got locked out of their truck and had to get the police to unlock the truck. Jack and Pat headed home because Hershey had gotten hurt and was in a lot of pain. We

Page 2 lined up at 3:30 to head to Sam s St. John s Seafood. The food was delicious. When we got back we used the smaller clubhouse to play bean bag baseball. The game was a shut out but everyone had fun. By the end of the game most everyone was consistently hitting the board. We probably need to play more often. After the game, several people sat around and talked and others played cards. Monday morning brought the threat of Tropical Storm Gordon s rains. Many packed up and hit the road early to be home before the rains. Several stayed over Monday night due to upcoming plans. We are all looking forward to Oktoberfest and stuffing bears. Chapter Meeting Information We did not hold a meeting. However, we need a reporter for November and December. Please volunteer NOW by calling or emailing Sherrie. Please be sure to make your reservations for each campout as soon as possible-it helps the campground know how many of us are planning on coming. Thank you for the great support of the monthly food bank collection. Please continue to pray for each other-that s what helps bind us together as a chapter family. Page 6 Bear tales as reported by Ramblin Bear We went to Texas on the way to Alabama. Yes, we went visiting Mary s sons and some friends from when they lived there while waiting for replacement upholstery. All of a sudden Larry realized the summer was fast ending. We had to change our plans about a leisurely trip out west, so we left on Tuesday afternoon. We went to Missouri where we got kicked out of a Love s lot because the trucks were coming in to where we parked, and they aren t allowed. Red Bay, Alabama is where Mary and Larry s coach was born. Waylon and his son came and took the seats and couch while I supervised. Technicians fixed the slides, CO2 detector, shades and handled some recalls on the hitch. Tiffin allows us in the shop while work is being done. Couches come in a lot of pieces They wouldn t let me ride back here. A cool Nebraska truck stop featured a tank and a caboose along with the Sinclair dinosaur. After a long road day, we checked into the Terry Bison Ranch in Cheyanne, WY. We took a ride on a homemade train through the ranch. I hid at first from the Bison who are huge! There are lots of different kinds of animals living on the ranch. Our guide calmed me down and let me help feed them. Onward thru Utah where Mary and I climbed a mountain to get some pictures. Wagon is on top RV is down below. Then we got out at a rest area and walked out onto the Great Salt Lake. Looks like ice but it was 90⁰ out. Here s the Morton Salt Plant.
