Board of Park Commissioners Project Summary Franke Park Maintenance Building Improvement Project Project Professional Design Services Project Approval Request Scope of Work: This project includes the assembly of a 40 x 120 steel pole barn for the Franke Park Maintenance facility. The barn was originally constructed on the site of the Turnstone property in Fort Wayne. In 2014, Turnstone donated the barn to the Parks Department. It was disassembled and has been in storage at the Franke maintenance facility since then. This project will reassemble the barn at the Franke Park maintenance facility for storage. The project will include a new concrete pad for the barn to sit, along with new lighting inside and all mechanical and plumbing to the building. This project will require the services of an architectural firm to develop construction documents necessary for bidding and State permit approval. These services will include the following: All construction plans and specifications including site, civil, topographic, structural, architectural electrical, mechanical, plumbing plans and details. State Permits Bidding services Construction management services Funding Source: Parks Cumulative Capital Fund Board Approval: The Parks Department has worked with MSKTD & Associates for many years on many projects and would like to work with them again on this project. They have submitted a proposal with a quote to us to design this project. After review we feel their fee is appropriate for the scale of the project. At this time I would like to request approval of a contract with MSKTD & Associates for the amount of $31,000.00. I can provide a copy of the proposal from MSKTD if you have more questions about this project. Please contact me at 260-427-6401 or steve.schuhmacher@cityoffortwayne.org. Thank you.
