I ve just emerged from my Thanksgiving food coma and am looking forward to doing it again over the holidays. Wooooo hoooooooo. We have a busy meeting coming up on December 6 at the Cleveland Country Club. First, we will be electing officers to lead us in 2019. Our nomination committee will be submitting the following for your consideration: President, Missy Holland; Vice-President, Alan Teague; and Secretary-Treasurer, Cindy Carlisle. We will also be accepting nominations from the floor before we will vote. I know we all appreciate all who are willing to serve the club. Second, we need to get a headcount of those who will be travelling together to the Melting Pot in Charlotte on December 13. I need to see what our transportation needs will be and then make the appropriate arrangements. If you will not be attending the meeting on the 6 th but plan on going to the Melting Pot please let me know as soon as possible. This sounds like a fun road trip. Third, we have a few dollars available for charitable gifts. Please bring any requests you may have to the meeting. The executive board will consider all the requests and make recommendations to the club in January. While we want to help as many of these deserving groups as we can, we don t want to dilute our efforts and we want to place these gifts where they will do the most good. There will have more funds available after our wildly successful Classic in April. Finally, Page and I made a visit to the Papa s and Beer Mexican restaurant on Dixon Boulevard in Shelby. It is located on the south side of the road in front of Shelby High School. Papa s has a room they said we could use for our meetings at no charge. The food is quite good and there is a full bar. We would be ordering individually from their menu. This may be a good spot for future meetings. Well, that s all I have for now. I have enjoyed my term as President and I greatly appreciate everything that everyone has done for the club along the way. We have a great club and do a lot of good things for the community while enjoying fellowship and our cars. Thank you all for all that you do. Now, someone please pass the figgy pudding. I m feeling a bit peckish. Jim Communications is an important part of any organization. The newsletter is published monthly to encourage and to promote events, to share activities and information, to introduce members to the love of cars, to involve you in helping others and to celebrate our successes. If you have ideas for articles please send by the 20 th of the month. If not received in a timely manner, item may not make newsletter that month. Goal is to send newsletter the Friday before our regular meeting. Let us know how you like the newsletter, e-mail Jack at wsweller@aol.com

SAVE THE DATE SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16 UPTOWN SHELBY CHRISTMAS PARADE AUTUMN DRIVE PLANNED Curt Holland has reported on our Autumn Drive, Saturday, November 10. Here is Curt s descriptions of the drive. NOVEMBER Drive: Our Saturday fall colors drive turned out spectacular! The skies were beautiful, the air crisp, the leaves gorgeous, the food great, and the friends fabulous. If you didn't join us for the drive, we missed you. After lunch we toured the Train Depot and learned all about the steepest section of standard gauge RR in the US, climbing over 600 feet in just three miles. Our trek south out of Saluda was full of late sun, breaking thru the red and orange fall canopy. Our final leg along highway 11, took us to Strawberry Hill for an ice cream. A perfect ending for the day. This was our final drive of the year, BUT, stay tuned for the details of our Annual New Years Day Drive. Put this on your calendar today! One thing is for certain, our New Years Day Drive is bound to be warmer this year. As I recall it was 5 F when we departed last year! See you at our next meeting in December, meanwhile, drive em Curt NEW YEARS DAY DRIVE: WE NEED YOU THERE FOR THE RED CAR, GREEN CAR, WHITE CAR PATTERN. Please send Jack Welller at text message at 704-473-5282 to let him know if you will be part of the parade. The Rear View Mirror Broad River European Motor Club Third Annual New Year's Day Drive route will be planned soon. If you'll recall we had snow on the road and near 0 degree temperatures last year! Stay tuned for these details, but put it on your calendar! Visit us on the web at www.broadriveremc.com Page 4 of 5

TIME TO START TO PLAN FOR 2019 BREMC EUROPEAN CLASSIC CAR SHOW In a few short weeks, the New Year will be upon us and we will be scrambling to complete items for our show on Saturday, April 27 th. The City of Shelby will still be involved in their Uptown Renovations. Here is a proposed site for our show that features the Don Gibson Theatre and parking along tree lined streets. To get you thinking about the different tasks that make up the show, here is the start of a list that some folks have led in the past sign-up tonight or before our December meeting to help get the planning for the show started.
