The accommodation at La Borie consists of a large converted barn comprising two gites together, housing up to 14 guests. Our accommodation is ideal for large groups or families booking together. The Accommodation The gites at La Borie can accommodate up to 14 guests within two attached properties, making our accommodation perfect for large groups or families booking together. Both gites have fully-equipped kitchens, large living areas and outdoor covered seating areas. Guests staying at La Borie have exclusive use of the large swimming pool during their stay, which is heated throughout the season. La Borie has plenty of outdoor space, which the guests are free to use during their stay. There is a private grassed area with table tennis next to the gites; a large orchard and a field are also available for guests use. Both gites also have covered, fully-lit outdoor dining areas. The Village Set within the grounds of an old 17th century farm, La Borie is on high ground above the beautiful village of Frayssinet-le-Gélat, on the border between the Lot and Dordogne regions of SouthWest France, one of the country s most attractive rural areas. The area benefits from excellent weather throughout the summer months. Set amongst rolling forested hills at one end of the beautiful Thèze valley, Frayssinet-le-Gélat is typical of the region s small medieval settlements. Dating back to the 12th century, the village is contemporary with many of the region s oldest castles and towns. An excellent boulangerie/ pâtisserie, a restaurant and a café are all within walking distance of the gites, with many others just a short distance away. The Swimming Pool Guests at La Borie have exclusive access to the swimming pool for the duration of their stay. Measuring a large 11m x 5m, the pool also has plenty of surrounding space for relaxing. The swimming pool is heated throughout the year, and lighting within and around the pool area is available for late-evening swimming.

Outdoor Space Guests staying at La Borie have use of several outdoor spaces, including a large field and an orchard overlooked by the old farm s pigeonnier. There is also a private grassed area for guests next to the gites with table tennis. Outside the property, there are excellent local hiking & cycling paths that can be easily accessed from the gites, and one of France s long-distance Grande Randonnée footpaths passes very close to La Borie, continuing down into the village of Frayssinet-le-Gélat. La Borie is also situated next to one of the region s best horse riding schools, offering high quality tuition and excursions into the local forests and wider landscape.
The Dordogne Valley The Dordogne River gently winds its way through South-West France, where many of the country s most attractive villages and castles line its banks. With activities including kayaking & canoeing, swimming, boat touring, climbing, walking and hot-air ballooning, the Dordogne Valley is a popular centre for outdoor pursuits, set amongst some of Europe s most attractive and historic scenery. The region is also rich with vineyards and small farms, producing some of Europe s finest quality food and drink. Sights and Activities The Dordogne and Lot regions are among the most scenic and historically important in Europe, with hundreds of sights and many activities to do throughout the area. Castles and Medieval Villages The Dordogne and Lot regions have many of France s most impressive historical buildings, including some of its finest castles, such as Castelnaud and Château de Beynac. There are dozens of Europe s finest medieval villages within the region, such as Sarlat-la-Canéda and Domme, characterised by their maze of streets, small shops selling local produce, ancient town walls and buzzing market squares. Prehistoric Sites The Dordogne and Lot regions have some of the world s most archaeologically-important prehistoric sites, including hundreds of impressive cave paintings at Lascaux and at other sites throughout the beautiful Vézère Valley many of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Sporting Activities The area s rivers provide some of Europe s finest canoeing & kayaking on gentle, safe rivers, along which boat tours are also popular. Safe roads through stunning scenery making the area s cycling routes among the finest in France; the region s gorges are excellent for climbing; wellmarked footpath networks provide scenic walking & hiking routes; and clear rivers offer some of the country s best swimming and fishing locations. Places and Activities for Children The area is also excellent for children and young people, with waterparks, zoos, aquariums and theme parks throughout the region. Many of the area s castles and prehistoric sites have excellent child-friendly activities and displays.
