Invitation to Register Conference Program Tuesday 6th October, 2009 Dear Delegates and Exhibitors, I wish to invite you to register for the 2009 BusNSW Conference which will be held in conjunction with the inaugural Australian Bus + Coach Show 2009 at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October, 2009. The BusNSW conference will officially commence with the Welcome Party at the Bavarian Bier Café in Parramatta on the evening of Tuesday 6th October, 2009. Both the BusNSW Conference and the Australian Bus + Coach Show 2009 is open to bus and coach operators and their employees, government representatives, equipment and service suppliers, tourism and hospitality providers, and bus enthusiasts. Recent NSW Government initiatives including the provision for three hundred additional buses for Sydney Metropolitan and Outer Metropolitan areas, the roll out of new contracts to NSW Rural and Regional bus operators, as well as the Government s regular bus replacement program, support the timing of this event. The BusNSW Conference will include high profile government, media and private sector speakers presenting a wide range of important industry topics such as contracts, accreditation, marketing, tourism and technology. The conference will provide delegates with important information on NSW and Australian bus and coach industry issues along with networking opportunities at a number of social functions. Please refer to the conference program in this brochure for details of speakers, topics and functions. Whilst entry to the Australian Bus + Coach Show 2009 is free to the general public, access to conference sessions and social functions will be restricted to registered conference delegates. Please refer to the conference packages and fees outlined in this brochure. Conference delegates will have access to a number of interactive technical sessions on Thursday 8th October, that will be presented at the manufacturers stands and include hands on demonstrations. Delegates will also have an opportunity to attend operational interactive sessions in a purpose built theatre. Over $30m worth of vehicles from leading manufacturers will be on display at the Australian Bus + Coach Show 2009. Delegates will have an opportunity to check out the latest engine, transmission and diagnostic technology, as well as new hybrid diesel/electrical buses. There will be 100 indoor exhibition booths displaying products, services and tourism information for the bus and coach industry. This provides delegates with an excellent opportunity to evaluate and source different products and services at the one location. I encourage you to register early and take advantage of the early bird discount for full delegate registrations. See you at Rosehill Gardens in October! He returned 20 years later with a wife, four children and the International tourism business Contiki Holidays. With just 25 pounds in his pocket he found a way to not only see Europe, but start his own business - Contiki Holidays. When John sold the company a few years ago, it was, and remains an international brand-name and one of the world s major tour operators (the largest catering specifically for the 18-35 year old market). The Company currently carries over 100,000 passengers a year. To date around 1.8 million young people have taken a Contiki tour (including 920,000 Australians!) When John eventually returned to New Zealand, he continued to run the Contiki Group, and built and operated 2 Resort Hotels, one in Queenstown, New Zealand and the other in Queensland, Australia. Subsequently as a member of the Auckland Rotary Club, he conceived the idea of The Ellerslie Flower Show which is now firmly established as the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. John travelled to London and met the Chelsea Flower Show organization who assisted him with the development of the New Zealand show. He was the inaugural CEO with the event attracting over 100,000 visitors in its first year! In addition to giving motivational and inspirational business presentations on the professional speaking circuit, John is writing a book on the Contiki Story and more recently he has started a new Company offering holidays for the over 45 s! John tells the incredible story of how he, together with a small group of other young New Zealanders & Australians developed a simple idea, 25 pounds, and a belief in himself and others into one of the world s major tour operators and an international Brand name. (An icon in Australia) The story is packed full of anecdotes with personal & business messages. It is told by the company s founder with passion, emotion and humour. It is inspirational, motivational unique!
