A Guide to Sponsorship of the Dorset County Show Dorchester Agricultural Society and The Dorset County Show
The Society that runs the Dorset County Show was formed in 1840 and has therefore been in existence for over 175 years. It has strong roots in the farming community and loyal support from around the County. Traditions play a major part in bringing visitors back year on year, but it was one of the first to introduce children go free and e-tickets and so remains forward thinking and relevant in today s events calendar. Sponsors have been rewarded with consistently high visitor numbers, an excellent visitor profile and of course now with all the local residential development, a growing population base. The Show sees approximately 60,000 visitors over the two Show days each year who come to see the huge range of attractions on offer from some of the region s best livestock, to the wide range of trade stands to the impressive Main Ring attractions as well as lots more in between. Marketing of the Show remains an array of Newspaper, Radio and Magazine advertising, however, Social Media via Facebook and Twitter is rapidly growing in importance. No stone is left unturned in efforts to attract even higher numbers of farmers and visitors to the Show so that Sponsors and Trade Stands are exposed to as many people as possible. Sponsorship is vital to the Show as it enables better classes, displays and attractions, which in turn adds to a great Show.
