Dear Participants, An innovation is created by intelligently connecting existing ideas with something new and unprecedented. This definition applies to the interconnection of machines in Production 4.0, to that of companies that cooperate in value networks and to the connection of regional innovation ecosystems. But how can these connections be made as efficiently and effectively as possible? Renowned figures from the worlds of politics, science and business will discuss this very matter at the 2018 International Mechatronics Forum, which this year is being held in South Tyrol for the first time. IDM Südtirol has joined forces with partners from Bavaria, Upper Austria and Switzerland as well as the Euregio partner regions of Tyrol and Trentino to organise this event, which aims to explore and build connections between the mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, automotive and IT industries in particular. The Brokerage Event will bring companies into contact with experts, and tours of model South Tyrolean businesses and flagship projects will provide insights into South Tyrol s industrial sector. Meanwhile, at the Forum itself, high-calibre speakers will shed light on various aspects of mechatronics. The evening reception hosted by IDM and Automotive Excellence Südtirol will provide an ideal opportunity for networking and sharing insights and experiences.
