MINUTES General Meeting - November 7, 2018, 6:30 p.m. Location: Glen Lakes Country Club 1. PRESIDENT: Ron Auger Call to Order - 6:30 p.m. Please turn off your cell phone and refrain from talking during the meeting. Thank You Pledge of Allegiance - October: New Members: Please welcome the following members who joined our club in Jeff Shimon Brian Ward Mel Haines Tom Dury Joel & Hariann Zara Gary & Carolyn Kress Todd & Kathy Morrison Dee & Nadia Rios Introduction of Officers - Vice President - Anita Butler Director - Larry Barnhart Secretary - Shirley Jacques Director - Ed Barabas Treasurer - Ray Truitt Director - Ed Upham New Business: President Auger November is the Month to Give Thanks: President Auger thanked Elkins Dahle who started the first Kids Fishing Clinic, thanked those who contribute to the Pirates Table, which was his wife s idea, and recognized Mia Auger and Karen Lorentz, as two people who do so much behind the scenes. Mia and Karen were presented with gift certificates.

Nominations from the Floor of Members to Serve on the 2019 Executive Board: Every current member of the board was nominated to remain in their positions and accepted; therefore, no election will be held in December. Weeki Wacky Wednesday Fishing and Picnic: Will be held on Wednesday, November 14th. Dave Humbles will be contacting boat owners and those wishing to go fishing but need a spot on a boat. If interested, please see Dave before this meeting. The picnic will be held at 2 p.m. at a shelter at Bayport. 2. VICE-PRESIDENT S REPORT: Anita Butler Suggestion Forms: No Suggestion Forms were turned in at the October meeting. 3. SECRETARY S REPORT: Shirley Jacques Minutes of the October 3, 2018 Meeting: Secretary called for a motion to accept the minutes. Motion was made, seconded and approved. Attendance Report: October 3, 2018 Meeting Attendance: 97 91 Members and 6 Guests Joining the Month of October: (4 Individual & 4 Family) Membership Report: As Of: October 31, 2018 316 Total Members = 187 Memberships (54 Individual, 129 Family and 4 Five-Year Memberships)

Mass Emails : If you aren t receiving mass emails concerning our events, which are sent out weekly, please check with the Membership Secretary, Lisa Swartley, at the break to make sure she has your correct email address. 4. TREASURER S REPORT: Ray Truitt Financial Statement : October 2018 Report was presented to the membership. Weeki Wachee Kayaking : Kayakers will fish with those going out in boats on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, then attend the picnic at Bayport. Since 20 members of the Truitt family will be in town for Thanksgiving, no scheduled kayak trip has been planned for Wednesday, November 21st. Introduction of Guest Speakers: Paul Vermeulen & Robbie Frix, Weeki Wachee River Rangers Cleanup of the Springs & River Rita King, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park Preserving Freshwater Springs for the Future President Auger presented a check for $100 to the Weeki Wachee River Rangers as a donation.

****************** MEETING BREAK 15 MINUTES ***************** 5. PRESIDENT: 7:40 p.m. the meeting was called back to order. Hernando Beach Marina Special: Everyone having work done on their boat at Hernando Beach Marina between now and the end of February will have their names put in a drawing for a 50 TV and a Laptop, in addition to receiving a 10% discount. The drawing will be held on February 28th. Carol Babicz: Briefed the membership on the families being adopted during the holidays. There are currently 14 working families with 44 children who need our assistance. She thanked those who brought food and donated money at this meeting and advised that the collection will continue at the December meeting. Needs are cereal, mac and cheese, tuna, peanut butter and jelly, Spaghetti O s, canned veggies, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. She hopes to give Christmas gifts to these families and ensure they all have a nice dinner. Paul Vermeulen returned the $100 check presented by President Auger to the Weeki Wachee River Rangers and asked that the money be given instead to help buy food for these families. Bill Jay, Hernando Beach Marina, also donated a free pontoon rental for the grandmother who is taking care of her five grandchildren, ranging in ages 18 to 10 months. 6. UPCOMING EVENTS: November 8th Fishing Trip Aboard The Thunder: Ed Upham will arrive at The Thunder at 7 a.m. and the boat departs at 8 a.m. Please wear your name badge. Ed will have a listing of participants n the order they will board the boat. Holiday Party, December 11th, 3-8 p.m., Glen Lakes Country Club: Tickets are now available for purchase. The club is subsidizing 50% of the cost. Cost for members is $27.00 per couple and $15.00 per single Cost for nonmembers is $25.00 per person. We need more donations for the Silent Auction, please. Anglers of the Month - October 2018: None

Fishing Reports: Several members gave reports. Old Business: Don t forget that the Pirate s Table is always in need of barely-used items. Please help by donating those things you no longer need or want. Please remember to wear your name badge to all of our meetings at Glen Lakes so you won t be denied admittance by the guards at the gate. If you have a guest who wants to attend a meeting, either let that person ride with you or call Ron Auger for a guest pass. Ed Upham reported that the November 8th fishing trip aboard The Thunder is full, but hopefully we can do it again someday. The President reported that we made $777.00 on the picnic, $400.00+ on the picnic and after the Christmas Party financial report, we may have funds to do 3 or 4 trips next year. The gag grouper season ends on December 31st, so we may have another fishing trip before the end of December.
