TREASURERS REPORT For a complete copy of minutes including financials, members should contact their state director. Books are still at the accountants after Audit but full financial statements will be presented at the AGM. Raffle tickets selling well with good sales at Eliminators Swap / Show & Bargara Beach Campout. TAC REPORT The initial satellite Inspection Day, at Toowoomba went well but a different venue will be finalised before any more inspections are done. The recent QSR TAC AGM & Seminar for all Qld Inspectors also went well with 25 attending from around the state. There was an extensive Q & A session regarding the large amount of unwritten rules [eg. Dicky Seat latches ] being discussed and a lot of these rules will be included in the updated Guidelines. Two older build Rods brought interstate were reported to Qld Transport with numerous dangerous faults and were subsequently defected, by Qld. TMR, and MUST be upgraded to pass a new & current TAC Inspection. Steve Coade reported that NSW TPT has just amended their Rules again and any modified vehicles not using a complete brake setup from one vehicle must fit an adjustable proportioning valve. This requirement wont affect Qld as the TAC prefer not to use them. QHRP REPORT Stewards Report #1 Most of the DC Committee attended Bargara Beach Rod Run. The full weekend camp-out attracted 62 Event Entries, with a total of 218 Show n Shine Entries, and around 6,000 spectators, for the Sunday Show & Shine. There was a Saturday Cruise to an Aircraft Manufacturing Business, which was interesting, or one could cruise to Cads Diner, for lunch. This was followed by the Regional DC Meeting at Rum City Rodders Clubhouse. #2 Eliminators Swap went well with plenty of swappers and display cars and some High End cars on display inside the Pavilion.
4 GENERAL BUSINESS # The IGNITE Chilli Festival Nov 17 at Caloundra are still wanting Yellow, Orange & Red ( & green ) cars for display. Check out Facebook Beachfest or Ignite Chilli Festival, for details. ( Actually, any rod, custom & classic will be gladly welcomed. ) Please let Don, Col, or Brian know if you are coming. # The ASRF National Hall Of Fame is asking for nominations of Influential Rodders, since Incorporation in 1973. Can clubs please forward nominations to me. # After last month s discussion about a S.E. Qld Rodder s Memorial Run, Rod Brewer has been preparing a plan. He has suggested building a brick Wall Of Remembrance at Willowbank Dragstrip. A suggestion is to run the Cruise in conjunction with the Nostalgia Drags and Hot Rod Reunion. Brass plaques would be attached to bricks. Willowbank management are 90% in favour and all delegates agreed it is a good idea. Thanks to Rod for his work to bring this to fruition. # Col thanked Brian & Rusty for their Raffle Ticket work, attending numerous events. # Greg demonstrated the Conference System which runs through Skype Business and is connected to a large screen TV @ Eliminators club rooms, so everyone at the meeting can see it. It will be administered by Amanda Bonner. ( thanks Amanda ) Anyone with a Skype address can log on via laptop or PC once invited. We hope to connect 10 Regional Clubs for the AGM and will expand it once there are no glitches. Thanks to Neil & Jacky from Eliminators for setting it up. # Jeff Bartley asked about the viability of S.E. Qld DC having our own clubrooms, like Victoria. Col commented that the Victoria club rooms are a great venue, & a credit to all concerned. The recent NCC AGM meeting was held there. Many Melbourne clubs who don`t have their own rooms and were meeting at halls, pubs and members houses, are now using the rooms for their meetings. They have already been approached by other motoring clubs wanting to hire it. Discussion ensued with the acceptance that a number of Brisbane Clubs have their own rooms [ Eliminators, Rods Inc, Fine Iron, Northern Districts, Suncoast etc ] so it wouldn`t be as viable here. Of course there are marque clubs & street machine orientated clubs that could possibly be interested in hiring an ASRF owned facility. The Public Liability Insurance subject was again raised. P.L. covers ( Indemnifies ) ALL ASRF members, working, or involved in the running of ASRF Sanctioned events. It does not cover the public, or any member just attending the event, but they can claim against it, in the case of an accident or incident. This is why ALL Club Members must be financial ASRF members so they are indemnified.. Also sign in sheets for non - ASRF volunteer workers at events are very important. New requirements, with regard to event sanctioning, will require each event to have a Responsible Person ascribed ( to the event ). This person will be responsible to assess risks before & during the event, have the Incident / accident report form, & all other relevant paperwork, on hand. They don`t have to be OH & S certified, ( but that would be a help ). Vehicle movement supervision during events is very important and some events have already started only allowing vehicles to leave at certain prescribed times. There is an Event Package being prepared to be rolled out to all affiliated clubs.
