On this tour we will take you to the highlights of our beautiful city and give you a complete overview of the must-see sights in Stockholm. You will get to visit classic places of interest and also see new attractions. Check-in at your hotel.
PROGRAM 11 MAY 18.00 Site inspection of the hotel followed by a welcome drink in the hotel. 19.30 Stockholm's restaurant scene is a melting pot of flavors from around the world, but of course the best of Swedish cuisine is served as well, often in contemporary interpretations. WELCOME TO ROSLAGEN THE COASTAL COUNTRYSIDE OF STOCKHOLM In the Roslagen archipelago you will find islands for all likes and tastes. Enjoy the genuine archipelago landscape with its nature reserves, national parks, typical agriculture and authentic archipelago settlements. With this pre-tour, we invite you to get an idea of what our region has to offer its visitors! Accommodation, meals, guides and local transports are included in the price. (Dinner beverages not included.) Each participant is responsible for their own flights to/from Sweden. Please note: All transportation on the first day will be by boat. Participants: 5-7 pax
PROGRAM 12 MAY Breakfast at hotel Check-out from hotel 08:30 Meeting point at Strömkajen in central Stockholm. 08:45 Departure Archipelago boat (scheduled service) to Vaxholm. The first part of the trip will take us through our beautiful capital and we will then enter into the inner archipelago where we can enjoy the view of lovely summerhouses and genuine archipelago nature. 09:40 Arrival at Vaxholm Vaxholm, only an hour by boat from Stockholm, is a picturesque archipelago town with lovely little shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants, beaches and beautiful nature. Guided tour through the lovely town of Vaxholm. 11.00 Lunch at Vaxholm (lighter snack). 12:00 Time to leave Vaxholm Our fishing guide will pick us up in Vaxholm. During the next two hours we will learn lots about fishing and the archipelago. The ultra-modern boat and knowledgeable guides will take us to the best fishing spots for the season and there will also be time to enjoy the traditional Swedish coffee-break called fika. The trip ends at Ängsö National Park. 14.30 Ängsö National Park Ängsö was declared a national park in 1909. It was one of Sweden s first national and it is also Stockholm County s smallest one. Thanks to extensive land clearing efforts, the agricultural landscape of the 1700 s has been preserved. During early summer visitors can enjoy the complete flora of the Swedish archipelago in one place more than 400 different species has been identified growing at Ängsö. After the visit to Ängsö, we will be picked up by a water taxi taking us to Furusund.
PROGRAM 12 MAY 15.30 Arrival at Furusund. Furusund is the island that has given name to the waterway used by seafarers through centuries for going east and is still being used today by ferries and cruise ships. During the 1800 s, Furusund became famous both in Sweden and abroad as a bath and health resort whose baths, picturesque houses and lovely promenades attracted high society and royals as well as artists and authors like August Strindberg, Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson and Astrid Lindgren. Guided walk in the footsteps of Astrid Lindgren and August Strindberg. Check-in at Furusund Värdshus. Furusund Värdshus Furusund Värdshus including conference facilities, guest harbor and harbor tavern. Here, right by the strait and the waterway, you will enjoy breathtaking views, excellent service as well as great food and drinks. You will have a lovely nights sleep in the hotel with the sea as your nearest neighbor. Before dinner, there will be time to enjoy the floating sauna, bubble baths and the relaxation area. Lovely dinner at the hotel with a fabulous view of the archipelago.
