Sales Overview Christmas Market Stalls Winter in Antwerp 2016-2017 General For the 2016 edition, Winter in Antwerp will return to the same five locations, namely Groenplaats, Handschoenmarkt, Grote Markt, Suikerrui and Steenplein. The Christmas Market opens on Saturday, 10 December 2016 at 5.00 p.m. with a big opening celebration. New to this edition is that none of the squares will close early. Everything will remain open until 8 January 2017. A similar atmosphere will be created in all locations, making use of lighting and fire elements. These can be fixed fire sources, heating corners, light roofs, video projections, etc. The layout of the squares remains nearly the same as the previous edition. You will find more information in the text below. Catering businesses (hotels, restaurants, cafes) located on the Christmas Market squares are given the opportunity during the Christmas Market period to install a winter terrace where they are allowed to serve both food and drinks. 1. Groenplaats The Christmas Market stalls on the Groenplaats will be set up in a square around the statue of Rubens, in between the rows of trees, facing the centre of the square. In the centre of the Groenplaats, an ice rink will be constructed with room for skate rental and a licensed pub/restaurant. Eating and drinking venues will be grouped along the side of the Nationalestraat, looking out at the fire elements in the boarding area of the ice rink and near a specially constructed terrace. By placing an entrance gate at the gazebo and reducing the logistics zone, we will improve the passage flow on the Groenplaats compared to the previous edition. All stalls will be connected to the main electricity network. Each stall is equipped (per 3 meters) with a heating device, current limiter and outer decoration. On the Groenplaats, 6 stalls will be provided for the sale of products to be consumed on the spot (stall numbers 1-6). 1 non-alcoholic beverages 3 meters side opening possible 2 warm, sweet dishes 6 meters N/A 3 cava, gin and tonic, cold wines, warm drinks and/or spirits (except mulled wine and jenever) 3 meters side opening possible 4 meat preparations 6 meters N/A 5 mulled wine and jenever 3 meters side opening possible 1

Handschoenmarkt Again this year, no stalls will be placed on the Handschoenmarkt. Just like previous years, this square will host the crib and a large Christmas tree. The Handschoenmarkt will be the operating base for all activities related to Nello and Patrasche this year. The new statue will be revealed during the opening celebration on December 10. We are looking into offering Nello and Patrasche items (in collaboration with the District of Hoboken) and winter Nello and Patrasche walks on the Handschoenmarkt. 3. Grote Markt The stalls are arranged in different zones. Some of the stalls will be facing the statue of Brabo. The other stalls will face the buildings around the square. The side of the city hall will be kept open again, as the building will be involved in the program. Like every year, a giant Christmas tree will be placed on the Grote Markt, together with a new lighting scheme for the city hall. In front of the city hall, the same heating elements combined with a seating area will be installed that were used during the 2015-2016 edition. Given last year s success, we will again provide a unique eye-catcher. All stalls will be connected to the main electricity network. Each stall is equipped (per 3 meters) with a heating device, current limiter and outer decoration.
