I was stationary in the center median on IR-75N at the 193.8 mile post. I observed a red Audi OH-ECS4186 traveling in the left lane on IR-75N between mile posts 193.6 and 193.8. The vehicle appeared to be traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 65 mph. I estimated the speed of the vehicle to be 80 mph. I activated laser unit # UX014977 and it displayed a reading of 80 mph at 1357.6 ft from the cruiser. I stopped the vehicle and I spoke to Michael Heffern. He told me that he was going 75 mph. I asked him why he had a rear license plate cover that blurs out the letters. He stated that he was unaware of that and reported that it was a gift from a friend. He was cited for speed and was given a court date for 01/25/13 at 0845 hrs. I had good tracking and there were no obstructions. The calibration was checked and was functioning properly. I was stationary on Pine St at W. Indiana Ave. I observed a grey Toyota Solara traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 25 mph. I estimated the speed of the vehcle to be 40 mph. I activated laser unit # UX014977 and it displayed a reading of 43 mph. I stopped the vehicle and I spoke to the driver, Steven Barry. I advised him of the traffic violation and he told me that he was sorry and was distracted by his two children that were in the back seat. He was cited for speed and was given a court date for 01/22/2013 at 1700 hrs. I had good tracking on the vehicle and there were no obstructions. The calibration was checked and it was functioning properly.
