SUMMER CAMP OVERVIEW DAY CAMP WEEKLY JUNE 11 AUGUST 24 Signature Summer Camp licensed through the Virginia Department of Social Services and led by an experienced, professional team trained in CPR and First Aid. PRESCHOOL CAMP Ages 3-4 Full Day Camp 8:30 am- 5:30pm Half Day Camp: 8:30am-12:30pm or 1:30-5:30pm The perfect option for campers who are just starting preschool, or who have not previously been to camp. Designed to get their feet wet, preschool camp will give young potty trained campers a sample of all that acac summer camp has to offer. Parents must pick up morning campers at Adventure Central by 12:30pm; drop-off for afternoon campers is 1:30pm at Adventure Central. Campers using the full-day option have a mandated rest period from 12:30-1:30pm. DAY CAMP Full Day Camp Rising K - rising 5th grade 8:30am-5:30pm Half Day Camp Rising K - rising 1st grade 8:30am-1:30pm or 1:30-5:30pm Campers will experience a day of fun and learning with specialized games inside and out, daily swimming, arts and crafts, special guests, events, and weekly themes for summer-long variety! Campers will stay on campus each day and have an option to add on swim lessons and/or tennis lessons with highly trained acac swim instructors and tennis pros. ARTastic Camp ARTastic Camp JULY 23-27 Get ready for an artistic adventure! In this camp we challenge the budding artist through innovative activities in painting, sculpting and drawing! Local artists will inspire campers to explore their creative side and bring their imaginations to life. Animal Planet NEW! Young Entrepreneur Camp JULY 30 - AUGUST 3 Full Day 8:30am-5:30pm. Through fun games, activities, group projects, and a business simulation program, campers will learn business and marketing strategy, teamwork, and essential problem solving and leadership skills. Successful guest speakers will share their knowledge of starting and growing their businesses. The camp will include field trips to the acac facilities to see first-hand how the company operates. Theatre Arts Camp AUGUST 6-10 This week-long introduction to theatre arts includes singing, acting, dancing, costume designing, set and sound production and much more. SPECIALTY CAMPS Misty Mountain Nature Camp AUGUST 6-10 Full Day 8:30am-5:30pm Daily travel off site to Misty Mountain Campgrounds. Includes overnight camp experience Thursday, August 9. Campers enjoy fishing, gem mining, nature hikes, bike riding, hayrides, swimming, crafts and traditional campground games. Thursday overnight campers sleep in the large indoor community room equipped with a kitchen, air conditioning, and restrooms. Misty Mountain Nature Camp SPORTS CAMPS Rising 1st - rising 5th grade acac sports camps are half day programs that teach children the fundamentals of the sport. Drop off is at the Charlottesville Catholic School, where sports camps are held. Pickup is at the Adventure Central Waterpark. Campers may choose to spend the whole day with us by joining day camp in the afternoon. Important Information: Transportation For your convenience in the morning and afternoon we will have transportation from the acac Downtown facility. Camp transportation is provided by the Albemarle County Transportation Department. All buses are maintained and operated by Albemarle County according to state regulations for your child s safety. MORNING Departs acac Downtown Back Parking Lot at 8:20am, arrives at acac Adventure Central at 8:45am. **Morning pick-ups will NOT be available for those campers enrolled in Off Site Sports Camps** AFTERNOON Departs acac Adventure Central at 5:00pm, arrives at Downtown back parking lot at 5:30pm. Refund Protection For an additional $30 per week, you can safeguard your payment in case of cancellation. Refund protection entitles you to a full refund of all deposits and camp fees if you cancel for any reason. Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to the start of the camp week. The refund protection fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Once enrolled in refund protection, the fee may not be transferred to any other week(s) than the week(s) specified on the registration form. Refunds are not available to those not enrolled in refund protection.
