TOWNSHIP OF BLAIRSTOWN COUNTY OF WARREN STATE OF NEW JERSEY ORDINANCE NO. 2018-014 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE EXCHANGE OF OWNERSHIP OF ROADWAYS AND CULVERTS LOCATED IN BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP WITH THE COUNTY OF WARREN WHEREAS, that the Township of Blairstown is agreeable to assuming the ownership of three (3) County roadways within the Village Area And sixteen (16) smaller County pipe culverts located on various Township roads as detailed on the attached Schedule A; and WHEREAS, in exchange, the County of Warren is agreeable to assume ownership of three (3) Township roadways and five (5) large Township culverts that require repair and maintenance beyond the resources available to Blairstown Township, as detailed on the attached Schedule B; and WHEREAS, Blairstown Township is agreeable to the exchange of ownership of the aforementioned roadways and culverts for the mutual benefit of both parties; and WHEREAS, the County of Warren is agreeable to the exchange and will prepare a concurring ordinance, agreement and all necessary bills of sale for assets to be exchanged for review and approval by the Township of Blairstown. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Blairstown, in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey, as follows: SECTION 1. The Township of Blairstown hereby assumes ownership of three (3) County roadways within the Village Area And sixteen (16) smaller County pipe culverts located on various Township roads as detailed on the attached Schedule A. SECTION 2. The Township of Blairstown hereby transfers ownership of three (3) Township roadways and five (5) large Township culverts that require repair and

maintenance beyond the resources available to Blairstown Township to the County of Warren, as detailed on the attached Schedule B. SECTION 3. The Township of Blairstown will work with the County of Warren and approve the agreement with the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Warren for the exchange of ownership of the roadways and culverts noted in the attached Schedule A and B. SECTION 4. The Township Clerk and Mayor are hereby authorized to to execute said agreement and all bills of sale once satisfactorily presented by the County of Warren. SECTION 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of this Ordinance. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage, approval and publication as required by law. Linda Leidner 2
