CAMPUS ACCOMMODATIONS TO MAKE A RESERVATION: Submit an application to the Residence Life Office, 101 Turner Hall, Missoula, MT 59812 by Thursday, June 4, 2015. Cancellations must be received in writing 5 days prior to the expected arrival date. AVAILABLE DATES: Housing is available in Turner Hall from Tuesday, June 23 - Saturday, June 27, 2015. Guests will be required to check-in at Turner Office after 1:00 p.m. and checkout by 12:00 p.m. All guests are expected to comply with residence hall regulations. Clean, comfortable and convenient room furnishings provided are: a standard twin bed, closet, dresser or chest, study table, chair, curtains and wastebasket. Linen is provided and consists of a mattress pad, pillow, pillowcase, two flat sheets, two towels and one wool blanket. Once an application has been processed, a room assignment will be emailed to the email address indicated on the housing application. INTERNET: UM provides both wired in-room internet service as well as a courtesy guest wireless network for campus visitors. The grizzly-guest wireless network uses open, unencrypted transmission and is not intended to be used to send or receive sensitive information. THINGS TO BRING: Additional towels and/or robe, shower shoes, shower caddy, blow dryer, fan, personal coffee maker, and other personal care items. Air conditioning is not available so bringing a fan is highly recommended. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: A courtesy telephone for local calls will be available in the lobby. Each resident is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their individual room. Custodial service is provided for common areas and bathrooms. Residents will be charged for damage to the room, excessively dirty rooms, lost keys and lost door access cards. TURNER HALL Turner Hall, originally called New Hall, was built in 1939. In 1956, the hall was renamed in honor of Mrs. Belle B. Turner, who served as a mother to the hall in Craig, Corbin, and New Halls. Located at the center of campus, Turner Hall primarily offers double rooms with a sink in each room. A limited number of single rooms are available. The average room size is 14 9 x 11 2. In accordance with campus policy, Turner Hall is smoke-free. The Area Desk for Turner Hall is located in the first floor lobby. Here you can find answers to questions about Turner Hall and the University of Montana campus. Wireless is offered throughout the building, and all rooms have cable TV and high-speed Internet ports available. Residents are advised to bring their own ethernet cords. Turner Hall does not have an elevator available for residents to use. Snack and beverage vending machines are available on the ground floor in Turner Hall. There is a TV lounge on the ground floor, and floors 2 and 3 feature study lounges. The laundry room is located on the ground floor. There is no additional charge to use the washers and dryers. You will need to provide your own laundry detergent. Only Turner Hall residents may use the washers and dryers. Air conditioning is not available, so bringing a fan is highly recommended. Driving Directions West Bound I-90: 1. Take Missoula's first exit onto Van Buren Street, turn left at the stop sign and merge into the right lane. 2. At the stop light, turn right onto Broadway Street. 3. Move into the furthest left lane, and turn left onto Madison at the stoplight. 4. Driving over the bridge, stay in the left lane, and veer left at the fork in the road. After the fork, keep to the left 5. and turn at the stop light. After making a left, get into the right lane. You will be heading due east and directly in front of you will be the Adams Center. You are now on campus. East Bound I-90: 1. Take Missoula's last exit onto Van Buren Street, Exit 105. Turn right at the stop sign and merge into the right lane. 2. Follow steps 2-4 from above. From Missoula International Airport: 1. Leaving the airport, turn right onto Broadway Street. 2. Take the first left leading you to the entrance of East Bound I-90. 3. Follow I-90 and take Missoula's last exit onto Van Buren Street, turning right at the stop sign. 4. Follow steps 2-4 from above. From Highway 12 & 93 North: 1. Highway 12 & 93 become Brooks Street through Missoula. Follow Brooks Street through Missoula to Higgins Avenue. Brooks Merges with Higgins at Hellgate High School. 2. Be sure you are in the right lane, and turn right onto Sixth Street. 3. Follow Sixth Street for six blocks to the entrance of campus.
Visitor parking regulations apply 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Parking is free on weekdays after 5 p.m., weekends, and University-observed holidays unless posted otherwise. Quick Stop Located in most lots and marked by orange signs, Quick Stops are free parking spaces that assist visitors who are running quick errands. Quick Stops have a maximum time limit of 20 minutes or as posted. Day Pass Costs $3.00 and can be purchased at the following locations: Office of Public Safety in Building 32, located near the stadium; University Center Information Desk and Box Office, located near University Hall; Griz Central in the Lommasson Center, located at University and Arthur Avenues. These locations are highlighted on the map. With a day pass, you can park in most lots except for hourly-parking and reserved parking lots. For over-night guests, please contact the Office of Public Safety at 243-6132 for special restrictions. Hourly Parking Hourly parking lots are highlighted on the map. Each lot has a coin-operated machine that dispenses hourlyparking permits. Place the permit on your dash board. The cost is 75 cents an hour. Most machines require quarters. Printing & Graphics (east side of University Center) makes change. Disabled Parking Visitors' vehicles bearing federal, state, or municipal issued disability hangers or plates are approved for parking in all disability parking spaces and must be accompanied by a daily-parking pass or hourly-parking permit. Bus and Trailer Parking Contact the Office of Public Safety (243-6132) at least two working days in advance to arrange for parking of buses, trailers, or other large vehicles.
