Warnings 1. Consult with the local fire authority for applicable regulations before using the stove. Alpha Renewable Energy LLC cannot anticipate every possible method of using the camping stove. 2. Never leave stove unattended when hot or in use. 3. Keep and store out of reach of children. This product is not intended for use by children, and is not child proof. 4. Use only commercial fire starter as liquid tinder. Do not use liquid fuels such as gasoline or alcohol to start the stove. 5. It is recommended that a lighter with a long handle be used to ignite the fuel. If matches are used, make sure hands and figure tips are cleansed of commercial fire starter before striking the matches. 6. Always use the removable handle to handle or adjust the stove. The outer surface of the stove can be very hot and cause burns during operation. 7. Do not move the stove, when in operation, with cooking material on it. Remove the cooking material, place it in a safe location and then move the stove using the handle. 8. The camping stove may only be used as a cooking appliance. Never alter the stove in any way or use with any part or accessory. 9. Your stove is NOT a space heater. It consumes air (oxygen). Using it in any confined or otherwise unventilated area may endanger your life. 10. Keep stove away from flammables. 11. Place your cook pot on the supports **IMPORTANT**: If your cook pot has an attached handle, be sure to line the handle up with one of the support stand wires. 3

Danger Fire Hazard/Carbon Monoxide Hazard 1. Never use gasoline or other liquids which produce flammable vapors (inflammable liquids) as tinder for starting the stove. 2. This stove may start other fires. Never operate this stove in places that contain or may contain volatile and inflammable liquids or vapors. Never operate the stove near airborne combustibles or products such as gasoline, solvents, paint thinners or unknown chemicals may be found. 3. For outdoor use only. Never use this stove in an enclosed space such as a home, camper, tent, car, or any other unventilated shelter. This stove consumes air (oxygen) and produces carbon monoxide. Using this product in unventilated or enclosed areas may cause injury or death. 4. Carbon Monoxide poisoning will be accompanied by symptoms such as watery eyes, fatigue and dizziness. If you experience these symptoms while using this product, get fresh air immediately. 5. Do not disconnect the power to the stove while the fire is still burning. Doing so will increase smoke generation significantly. 6. Charcoal and ash can smolder for a long time without smoke. Always pour out the spent fuel and douse with water, completely extinguishing the fire. 7. Be sure the stove is completely cooled before storing in plastic bag. Failure to do so may cause fire or injury. 8. If used in a park, camping area or other open spaces, follow all area instructions for campfires when using this stove. The camping stove can create a fire hazard similar to any open camp fire. 4

Starting the Stove CAUTION: Before using the stove, please have a container with water nearby in case of fire, should the stove be knocked over or a user is burned. NOTE: Before using the Grill Rack for the first time, pre-heat for 10 minutes at full fire. Allow it to cool COMPLETELY and clean the Grill Rack before using it for grilling. User should be careful not to get burned, as the stove will get very hot. 1. Find sufficient fuel to fill the stove and some tinder (see fuels and tinder section below). 2. With the power unplugged, fill the stove with the fuel to just below the top air holes of inner can. 3. Evenly distribute a layer of tinder on top of the fuel. 4. Light the top of the tinder with a match or a lighter. 5. When the tinder begins burning on the surface, insert the battery pack to power the fan on low. 6. Slowly increase the knob towards high in about one minute. Hi power should be sufficient to boil water fairly quickly. Use Low power for simmer or frying. 7. If the tinder has been consumed, but the fuel will not burn without a great deal of smoke, the stove has not reached a high enough temperature to burn properly. If this occurs, add more tinder to start the fire again. The fuel and the internal stove must reach a certain temperature for the stove to burn properly. 8. Put the pan holder and pot on the stove and begin cooking. Regulate the heat by moving control knob between high and low 9. If the cooking session lasts longer than the fuel, add more fuel slowly to the stove. Adding too much fuel to recharge will cause the fire to go out, and smoke to be produced. The stove should run for as long as fuel is added and the batteries maintain their charge. For long burn times and grilling, sawdust pellets or charcoal are highly recommended. CAUTION: Should the flame go out while cooking, exercise caution when handling the stove since it may be hot to the touch. Always use the stove handle if and when the stove must be moved. 5

Use of commercial fire starters, such as Fire Starting Gel or Starting Sticks is generally easier, as they burn long enough to bring the stove up to temperature Fuel Materials: Any dry natural biomass will work. As every biomass has a different heating value, it will affect your cooking time accordingly. Most of the time you should be able to find them near your camp site. Fuels should be dry for ease of starting and efficient operation. Many car campers carry pre cut small pine or hard wood chips with them. Wood chips Twigs Sawdust pellets Small branches Nuts Bark Pine cones Charcoal Animal Dung Wood pellets (Charcoal and wood pellets are best for grilling.) CAUTION: Do not use liquids, plastics, or treated wood. If you are using hard cardboard type material, tear it down into small pieces and fill the inner can. Tinder Materials: Birch bark Pine needles Fire Starting Sticks Dry Spanish moss Gel Fire Starter leaves and grasses CAUTION: Fire starters fuel, Fire starter Gel or Starting Sticks should be used only in the small quantity and on top of Tinder material. Do not pour flammable liquids in the stove without any natural biomass fuel, as it will destroy electrical components and may severely burn or kill the user. 6

Stopping the Stove after Cooking After cooking, continue running the fan and allow the flame to naturally extinguish itself. After the flame extinguishes, allow the fan to run on low speed for about five minutes (allowing the charcoal to be consumed) and then disconnect the battery pack. Allow the stove to completely cool down (stove is very hot to the touch), dump the spent fuel into some water or bury in a dirt hole with water poured on top. (Never pour water into the stove to extinguish the stove, doing so may ruin the electronics in the stove). Warning: Disconnecting the power to the stove while the fire is still burning will cause the fire to go out but large amounts of smoke will produced. Performance of the Stove The fan operates on two (2) AA batteries. Battery life for normal alkaline batteries will be approximately 9-10 hours for L. E and L. E plus camping stove. XL battery life will be 8-9 hours. XXL battery life will be 7-8 hours. Boiling time will also depend on the type of biomass fuel and the size of the cooking pot. Faster boiling time is possible with the use of wood pellets.
