PDOT/ NEC Joint Campaign The Philippine Department of Tourism joined NEC, a multinational provider of IT services and products, in creating the It s More Fun in the Philippines design for NEC s newly developed My Arrange Schedule calendar for smartphones and tablets. My Arrange Schedule offers a variety of designs that caters to different lifestyles. The Philippines is the only country featured in the calendar. It is available in the android market and it is downloadable for free. My Arrange Schedule also offers its sponsors to disseminate information regarding their upcoming events. This is an option service provided by NEC and it was given to PDOT for free as part of our partnership for a period of one year. 2012 Asian Grand Cruise DOT Tokyo coordinated with Asuka Cruise in bringing the 2012 Asian Grand Cruise to the Philippines. The country was chosen as a tribute to the Filipinos who work for Asuka Cruise. These Filipinos were graduates of the NYK training center in Manila built 30 years ago. Graduates of this training center are now front liners in shipping industries around the world. It is said that 40% of the international seamen are Filipinos. The passengers of the cruise ship (600 pax) were welcomed by a cocktail reception highlighted by the performances of the country s popular artist group, the Bayanihan. This welcome reception was held last February 21 at the historical Manila hotel. Representatives from DOT also graced the reception.

PDOT/ Casio/ Canon Joint Campaign Casio donated two top-of-the-line digital dictionaries during our Study English in the Philippines Fair held at Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan on May 18 and 19. PDOT will do a joint campaign with Casio/Canon highlighting the country as an ESL destination. Free study in the Philippines packages and free study English online packages will be won by lucky raffle winners. Casio/Canon will create a two page leaflet to promote the campaign at more than 2000 outlets nationwide.
