We have found another junior football league from 1959. The Quebec South Junior Football League. Research has found that the 1971 Algonquin College Acaats correct sports name is the Thunder. Acaats stand for the Algonquin College Applied Arts and Technology(s). We are introducing some new catagories. Most Yards Lost in a Game and Most Turnover on Downs. As well, we are listing Most Yards, Most Penalties & Penalty Yards in a halfand shortest field goal. On a separate page we are listing team seasonal points and yards leaders, top 25 points, yards and penalty yards Special thanks to Daryl Slade, former CJFL statistician and Calgary Herald reporter. Daryl has been able to provide copies of newspaper articles cover many PFC games from the 1990 s and early 2000 s, a time when there were no available game reports. Special thanks to Library and Archive Canada for sending copies of newspaper articles covering junior football across the country as early as the 1900 s to the late 1980 s. Material, once thought to be lost to memory has now been added to our record book. We would like to express our thanks to Heather Foster, BCFC statistician who has been supplying us with the west coast stats since 2009. A task well done. We would like to express our thanks to Jim Stevenson, OFC statistician, a well earned retirement after almost 40 years, for supplying Ontario stats and a welcome to heir apparent, Darren Cocchetto as the new OFC stats man. And finally, special thanks to Ed Plant. When appointed as the PFC and CJFL statistician Ed was charged with the assignment of co-ordinating the stats from all three conferences and make them available to junior football and the media. As well he introduced a new computer system bringing CJFL stats well into the 21st Century. He has spent countless hours on this methodology to ensure junior football numbers are second to none. We have scan copies of CJFL Handbooks 1982 to 1996 as well as CJFL Championship games reports since 1925. All are available upon request. The cover art is photos from the Regina Thunder at Hamilton Hurricanes played on August 27, 2017. We are by no means complete maybe next year.
