That s what forty-some club members will be doing on the Steamboat trip led so well by Anne. By the time of this newsletter printing, we will be skiing waist deep (hopefully) and home soon to tell the tales. Thank you! It seems the lamb arrived a bit early with the wonderful spring like weather we have enjoyed. This puts a halt to our winter fun, but makes way for our very active spring and summer calendar. Thanks to those who have agreed to serve on our 2017-2018 Board. We have some new recruits, which is wonderful, as well as a good team of veterans who have agreed to serve another term. This is a hard working team of volunteers who have the club s best interest in hearts and minds! Elections are held at the March 14 th meeting. Please check the calendar and the articles within for information on our upcoming activities and events. There is still room for a few more summer activities, so, if you have an idea, please contact any board member. Enjoy your journey through this sometimes weary month of March. Don t forget to check out the Facebook page to see what your pals are up to! Jane Meetings of the Lebanon Ski & Sport Club are held at 7:30 p.m. on the SECOND TUESDAY of the Month - September through April at Heisey s Diner Route 72 North, Lebanon, PA 17042 New Members are always welcome! having fun in the snow and more since 1972! Sunday River, Maine: Jordan Grand Hotel February 5 th 10 th, 2017 (Sunday Friday) Check the Video Feb 8: https://vimeo.com/203168072 This was a Great Ski Adventure. www.sundayriver.com Sunday River Summary: Twenty-three people made the trip to Sunday River, Maine with most carpooling. The weather was great for traveling both to the resort and then for the return trip home as well. The accommodations were very nice at the Jordan Grand and people liked having kitchens in the units. Many also made trips into Bethel to enjoy some great restaurants. We had an exceptional week of great snow and powder days on both Tuesday and Thursday, plus some fresh flakes for a handful who braved the cold on Friday. We enjoyed the mountain tour, and multiple perfect turns clinics that helped to advance members skiing. The general feedback from our skiers was that everyone had a terrific time and would like to return. Thank you all for a Successful Trip! Thank you Gerald for a Great Trip!!!! Gerald

Gretna for a 2 hour hike on Trail #15 with a short detour on the cairn trails for 20 minutes to liven it up a little. You have the option on staying on Trail #15 if you do not want to hike the cairn trails or hike the main trail to the Tower. Trail #15 is likely rated a blue, the cairn trails are likely rated an easy black and the main trail to the tower is a green. Suggest hiking boots or sturdy shoes. Dogs permitted but must be leashed. Beer and burger at the Gretna Hideaway after the hike. Questions, contact Fred Schaeffer @ 964-2100 orgretna01@comcast.net. May 21:Bicycling at Stoney Creek (Rail Trail or Mountain Trail w/fred Schaeffer) LOCAL BIKE RIDE - STONY VALLEY, SUNDAY MAY 21, 1 PM We will be meeting and parking on the west State Game Land parking lot in the valley off Gold Mine Road which is north of Lickdale for a 3 hour bike ride on the lower trail which parallels the rails to trails [rail road bed] partly up the mountain and return on the Rails to Trails. We will shuttle our bikes up Gold Mine Rd. to the trail head. This trail is likely rated a blue to easy black and is mostly level with some down fall to lift your bike over, a small narrow stream to cross and a short swampy area to walk your bike around. Fun, beautiful area and no road noise! An option for an easy green would be to just ride the rails to trails which Jayne Schaeffer will be riding. Dogs permitted unleashed on Game Lands. Required mountain or cross bike for the main ride, any bike including street on the rails to trails option. Beer and burger at Moose's after the ride. Questions, contact Fred Schaeffer @ 964-2100 or gretna01@comcast.net.
